The last day that James and Hailey were in Michigan we took them to Detroit Riverwalk. There was a Ribs & R&B Festival going on that day - needless to say we kinda stuck out.
Look how close we live to Canada! That's Windsor, CA right across the Detroit River:
Motor City:
A good picture of what Detroit looks like outside the city center.
And in case you're worried that we live so close to inner city Detroit, rest assured we live far enough away for everyone to take a good nap while driving home. Of course, 30 minutes of that was just trying to get onto the freeway. Ugh. Detroit always is a driving nightmare!
On the way home we got a glimpse of the Willow Springs air show. I wanted to go but I don't think the girls would have appreciated the noise. Maybe next year (?) Can you spot the fighter jets? The photo on the right you can see the jets flying right above the road - below the red traffic light.
Scarlett got a chance to hold this puppy's leash - she was in HEAVEN!
I was so sad when they went home. The week just flew by! It's been hard adjusting to my normal routine after having so much help! We sure did have fun with them here!!!!!!!!!!! On the way to the airport James and Jake gave a friend a blessing. So nice to have faithful priesthood holders in our home!
Side note: I was filling in for the primary pianist this day. The primary choister is a music therapy major in college. He kept making me sight read songs - I was like "I don't know that one" and he said "oh it's easy, you can do it." haha! I think he has more confidence in me than I do! Well, maybe not anymore... ;-)

Looks like a really fun visit!
Also, I think Primary songs are the hardest to play, though I'm not sure why. I can bang out a hymn no problem, but I cannot for the life of me sight read the primary songs.
That inner city picture is crazy. Post more of those. I had no idea inhabited places really look like that. It's like an apocalypse movie!
