Welcome to the World Siena & Jaide!!!

That's right - our babies were born Thursday night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is a long story and I'm still recovering, so I will blog the whole thing later.  But hopefully these pictures and few details are enough to hold you over until then.

Jaide Katherine Glauser

Scarlett's first trip to the hospital was Friday night after Jake picked up my mom from the airport late.  So she hasn't actually met her sisters yet!

Quick summary:
Went to the hospital Thursday morning 'cause I had a lot of contractions.  Found pneumonia and preeclampsia.  Went into full labor as the day progressed.  Decided to deliver them at 10 pm.  Most people loose 1L of blood during a c-section, up to 1.5L is normal for twins, I lost 2L.  They did a D&C before I left the operating room and put a bakri balloon in to stop the blood flow.  Finally decided that I didn't need a blood transfusion and released me to the post partum recovery area on Friday evening.

The girls went to the NICU cause they had labored breathing.  They both started antibiotics (per NICU procedure).  Jaide made it out to see me but then had to be admitted like Siena.  Both have issues with low body temperature, low blood sugar, and eating (all normal for late preemies).  Both are on IVs of glucose.  They were born at 35 weeks and 4 days.

Yes they're identical but Siena is a little chunkier and has a little longer hair (probably cause she was just camped out in my pelvis while Jaide was doing flips and burning all sorts of cals).

Please pray that the girls will be able to maintain their blood sugar, eat well and keep their body temperature up.  Each time I go to feed them they are behaving differently - so as of right now we have no idea how long they will have to be in the NICU.

They are both so beautiful and snugly!  I can't wait for Scarlett to meet them!!!  We love you all!!!

So wonderful! Your little family is suddenly much bigger. I'm glad they got your bleeding stopped and that you're feeling ok. How's the pneumonia? I hate pneumonia. You getting enough air? I guess you're in a hospital so they make sure you're ok. ;)

Such beautiful girls. I can't wait to meet them. Maybe I need to plan a trip to Michigan this summer.

Too, too, too cute! They are adorable! They remind me a lot of Scarlett as a newborn, but they seem to have a look all their own. I love the picture of Jaide on your lap with her little hand poking out of the blankie. I just NEED to kiss that little nose! Can't wait for more updates- you're all in our prayers and I'm sure you'll all recover in no time.

I keep looking at the picture of you holding Jaide and Siena and thinking, "What the what???!! How did they both fit inside your small little self?"

Also, the counter on your blog says you still have 28 days to go. Hahaha. I'm sure you're glad that wasn't the case.

So sweet! I can't believe those chunky little gals fit inside of you! Doesn't make sense at all. They're super cute. Tonight I was painting Meg's nails and though of you and how you have your work cut out to keep all your girls' nails painted now. :) Also, love the videos. My #2 was breech and used to stick her legs out a right angles like one of yours does in that first video

So glad that you finally have some relief. They are so beautiful. You can tell they are Scarlett's sisters. I hope their (and your) recovery is quick and you can get to take them home to begin this new chapter of life together.

Congrats! They are beautiful and I think they both look so much like Scarlett already! She will be such a good big sister to her live baby dolls! :)

You did it! Now just keep hanging in there. :)

I love in the first video clip that they both are resting with their limbs spread out. They must be enjoying the extra space! Then, in the second clip, Jacob's hand next to the baby's face gave me a better idea of how little they are. That, or Jacob has ginormous paws!

Congratulations!!! So cute & sweet! For early babies they aren't even skinny--you did a great job feeding those little ones Jenni! :) They are just one day younger gestation than Ella was. Man, it goes by so FAST! Congrats & hope you are all doing wonderfully & feeling stronger each day! So happy for BIG SISTER Scarlett!
