Scarlett turned 5 on March 9th. We celebrated by taking her to "Cheddar Cheese" with our little family. It was the day after we went to the ER with Jami, but Jami still wanted to come and join in on the fun. We walked in and made a beeline for a quiet corner away from the flashing lights for Jami. She even brought her seizure glasses to help. The only thing is she forgot to put them on before we walked in. Jake and I made our way to the table with the girls only to look back and see Jami standing in the middle of the toddler arcade games with her eyes fluttering in a seizure. Poor thing! I waited til she was done then led her to our table while she kept her eyes closed. After that there weren't any problems. The girls had a blast. It took a few minutes for Siena to warm up to the new environment. At one point Jaide took off across the entire huge room. I ran after her but it wasn't til she was at the other side that she turned and said "where'd mom go?" Scary! They can move so fast! Thank goodness they make all the kids get a ultraviolet number stamp that matches their parents.
Jake had fun too - it was his first time at the magical Chuck E Cheese.
Earlier that day I took Scarlett to Kroger. She picked out her birthday cake from the bakery - it even had 5 candles on it! She told the lady that she loves rainbows and violet. The bakery lady did an awesome job making my 5 year old happy! Then we went to the balloon counter where she picked out some fun balloons to celebrate her special day. While the lady was filling them up Scarlett got a phone call from her grandparents in Russia!
After our fun dinner Scarlett got to open her presents.
Blowing out candles!
Jami told Scarlett "What a cool square balloon!" To which she replied "That's not a square, it's a cube!" haha!
Enjoying her new presents.
