Trying to catch up...

I'm still behind on blogging cause this past week I've spent ALL my extra time working on a project for my SIL.  I've been designing her wedding invitations (and teaching myself photoshop).  Here are a bunch of pictures, videos and anecdotes to catch you all up!

Scarlett loves to wear my shoes - I think she walks better in them than me!

This is a video of our ET Phone Home game:

Me: "Scarlett you'll need a flashlight."
Scarlett: "There's one under my puppy."
Me: "What's it doing there?"
Scarlett: "It's for looking under my puppy."
duh, why didn't I figure that out???

Bath time - the favorite part is when I let them play with the facet.  This is how I dry, lotion and diaper two babies - by using the towels as seat belts.  It's a full body workout!

We went on a walk while Scarlett pedaled her bike.  After awhile she told me her legs were too tired, so I used the stroller to push her while she steered our train.  It worked great!

Shopping at Sam's - thank goodness for their extra large carts with two seats!  Does anyone else get (what I like to call) "Sam's Club portion distortion"?  Everything looks totally normal in the store until you get home and realize it's about three times the size of any normal product you would by.  Who needs that much ketchup!?!  I know this, and yet I keep buying random condiments there.

I was trying to watch TV and kept telling Scarlett to "shush".  (in my defense it was after she was supposed to be in bed).  She then grabbed my face and said "you're the best mom in the whole wide world."   *two inches tall*

After lining up her glow in the dark stars on the table, she told me "I made this submarine for my cousin Megan."

When I leave her room I say "Night Night Miss Scarlett" and she says "Night Night Miss Mommy."  Jake told me she now says "Night Night Mister Daddy."

In this picture she's saying "ta da" and presenting her train tracks.  It was the first time she built the figure 8 all by herself (it's trickier than it looks.)  Great job Miss Scarlett!!!

I had a dentist appointment last week.  When I was driving I realized my appointment was at 2:30.  Tooth hurty!  It was actually at 2:30!  haha!

This is how the girls like to hang out in the morning - ALL ON TOP OF ME.  They seriously get jealous if I'm holding someone and not them - Scarlett included!

A UPS truck drove by, Scarlett yelled "Look a brown school bus with packages in it!!!"  We may order too much from Amazon...

Jaide is hilarious - this is a popper toy and she keeps it in her mouth like this for several minutes - all while breathing fast.  I think she knows she's being funny.

When the twirls were spilling their food off the high chair.  Scarlett told them, "Don't spill those, babes! It will make my mom mean."  too true!  haha!

"I love ah-a-cado (avocado).  It's my ah-a-cado birthday cake!"  And these noodles were just made for the twins - rainbow twirls, with yellow and green!

When we got home from New-tah I spent a lot of time in my room unpacking.  Scarlett decided all on her own to read the twirls a story.  Super cute!  The other photo is of our night time routine.  Chocolate milk for Scarlett and warm whole milk for the twirls.  Jake was gone so I took that photo to show him that I had everything under control (for about ten seconds).

Scarlett opened my bedroom door after bath time, I was hanging up their towels and didn't think anything was wrong.  I came out of the bathroom just to see Siena leaving my room.  I caught her literally as she was putting her first down to crawl down the stairs.  YIKES!!!  I had a talk with Scarlett and changed my methods (adding a safety factor by closing the gate at the top of the stairs AND shutting my bedroom door.  She's so fun with the twirls, but often her "helping" is more "hindering".

Another way Scarlett "helps" - is by teaching them all sorts of new games.  Like this video of Screamfest:

I told her she couldn't use the treadmill with me cause she wasn't wearing shoes.  She came back with her socks and shoes on (she had to go all the way up to her bedroom to get socks!)  So I let her have a turn (don't worry - she can't turn it on by herself... remember - safety factors!)

Enjoying the summer - since we've been home from UT we've already spent more time outside than I think I was outside TOTAL last year.

We had the Frozen movie on the counter for awhile.  Scarlett would say "I don't want to watch that Disney movie!"  Then we watched it and now she's like every other kid in America.  She'll ask, "Can we watch let it go, let it goooooooooooooooo!?"

I've gotten Scarlett to wear big girl panties.  The only thing that motivates her: babies wear diapers.  You can wear a diaper, but then you have to take a nap in your room with the door closed like a baby (she can't get out when it's closed).  Works like a charm!

One of my friends recently moved away.  She gave me their baby playpen gate thing.  I decided to use it to block off one end of the toy room, so now we can all play in there without anyone escaping!  We spend several hours in there everyday.  Sometimes I put the twirls in there while I'm cooking - you can see how much they love when I do that in the second picture.  They just sit there and cry at me instead of playing with all their toys.  Silly babies!

Before we had the gate, we had to be more creative at keeping the babies in the toy room...

Scarlett and Jake having a dance party...

Scarlett's Molluscum Contagiosum.  Or as she calls it "my bumps".  This picture is actually taken on one of the better days.  It usually has a red rash with it.

I'm always amazed at what Scarlett learns from watching TV.  Things that I don't think to teach her.  I feel that it rounds out her education ;-).  Anyways, on Paw Patrol she learned about Recycling.  In this video you can see what I'm talking about...

You're a champ!  I can't believe you read that entire post!  Ten points for you!!!  I have more to catch up but I need to go to bed.  And so do you! ;-)

So many good tidbits in there! I'm way behind on reading blogs, let alone writing, so no judgment here.

Re: Sam's Club--I have the exact same problem with Costco! I call it the Costco paradox! I have a few GIANT things in my apartment that I'm sure were not giant when I bought them. And they make everything in my apartment suddenly look much smaller. Everything is huge and small at the same time, both at Costco and at home. The Costco paradox.

Ok, so these are my FAVORITE posts. All the little bits of your days - they make me smile, they remind me of when mine were little and did EXACTLY those things, and they make me think "Go Jenni!!!"

I finally made a list of things I DON'T buy at Costco: ketchup, bananas, those enormous cans of peaches that are SO MUCH CHEAPER and I'm sure we'll just fly right through. I feel your pain there.

A friend showed me her kid's molluscum contagious the other day - that is a weird looking bump! Hopefully the twirls don't get it.

We've seen Frozen once, and my youngest knows only the words, "Let it go! Let it go! Oooooooh!" and then sings it over and over and over. Those are long days...

Last one. I remember the days of the kids crying while I made dinner. Hang in there - the crying won't kill them and they'll outgrow it in a couple of years. I used to wear earplugs sometimes when I couldn't stand it anymore. :-)

Ok, I lied. one more comment. Love the treadmill pic. Our hotel in Colombia had treadmills in the gym and we wore the kids out on them. Nothing funnier than watching a little kid jog.

I love your blog and your cute girls! Thanks for writing when you can, don't sweat it when you can't, and keep up the good work! You are one amazing Mama! Love you!!!

Keep up the great posts. They always make me smile and laugh. I am getting a kick out of the corral for the toy room. But what else can you do? vg
