iCracked

So this happened....

Ya.  It was pretty traumatic.  Scarlett accidentally knocked it off the table.  Then she took it over to Jake with her eyes wide open in shock.  I was upstairs and I heard Jake telling her "oh no, that's a bummer.  We need to be more careful with our toys.  Let's clean up the mess now."  By his tone I thought she broke a plastic egg or something more disposable than our iPad.  I was impressed at how calm he was during a situation where I could easily see myself getting more frustrated.  He was rising to his potential *tear*

We were leaving on a jet plane in a week, so having a functioning iPad was an immediate need.  Jake found a repair kit on Amazon and spent like 3 hours fixing it one night.  It would have gone much faster if the screen wasn't in 4 million pieces.  But now it works great!  And it's a snazzy green color!  Just in time for the big trek out west.

Tell me more about the repair kit! Parker dropped ours too, but there are only two or three cracks that run the length of the screen, so we've just been using it as is. And it happened right before we came out for James' wedding too! I didn't bring it with us because I didn't want your parents to see it and think we weren't taking care of their gift. (Forget you just read that, Karry.)

And a new Fisher Price style case to make it toddler proof?

WOW, it looks great! My phone was dropped approximately one million times (and by dropped I mean thrown, tossed, etc.) and not a scratch on it. Then one day it fell about a foot and landed on carpet and the front just totally shattered into a zillion pieces. I slapped a screen protector over it so I won't cut myself and am still using it. But maybe I'll try to repair it....hmmm.........
