Outside in April

We went to the park one afternoon for Lyla's 3rd bday pty.

Ashley made this AMAZING Lego Unitkitty cake for Lyla (she loves the Lego movie).  I am so impressed with Ashley's fondant skills - and this was her first time using it!!!

 Happy Bday Lyla!

The twirls finally wanted to get out and play.  They did their backwards crawling maneuver to get onto the gravel.  They do that every time they need to get onto another surface that looks different haha!  Then Jaide just kept going and going.  You can see her backwards knee drags in the sand if you look closely.

We have friends that live in that ward who also have twin girls, one year older than ours.  They were at the park and pointed out that the baby swings are wide enough for two kids to sit in together.  I thought the twirls would scream, but they loved it!  I think they were in there for like twenty min!

Our friends got their twins and we had a twin swinging party!

Kite flying on a windy day:

The beginning of this video shows how the twirls do their backwards crawl maneuver to get off our sidewalk and onto the grass:

Bubbles!

Just hanging out on the play set.

Scarlett asked if we could have a picnic.  Too bad it was windy and some of our precious Kraft Mac and Cheese fell on the ground.  Oh well, the squirrels were happy (did I mention we have a ton of wild life in our back yard?  Frogs, squirrels, bunnies, ducks, geese, birds, etc - the girls love it and so do I, as long as no one touches them!)

Not a single airplane passes overhead without one of my girls pointing it out to me.  haha!  And we live by an airport, so there are many airplanes!  Maybe they are trying to tell me that they're thankful I gave up aerospace engineering so I could play with them, or maybe they just think that airplanes are cool.  Let's go with the first.  ;-)

that backing up thing to change surfaces is really funny. I can't wait til you guys come out for the summer and we get to see them in person!

I wonder if to them a different surface reminds them of stairs and they are careful to go backwards down the stairs. That is adorable and I am glad to see they are trying to keep it safe. Fun pictures and videos. I got a kick out of Dad sitting at the picnic table with his knees as high as the table surface. As Aunt Ara would say, "Too cute for words."
