In case you don't know this about me.. I LOVE HALLOWEEN. Not the gory, creep, scary stuff but the dressing up in creative and unique costumes (and getting lots of candy). Let's be honest, I'm one cape away from being a full fledged LARPer. So ya, Halloween is my jam.
Luckily I have many people who support me in this strange addiction. First, Jake - he puts up with my costumes (though he does have lots of rules and gets final veto). Second, my parents - they are flying out here for the holiday for the second year in a row and my mom and Jami found a bunch of Halloweeny jammies for my girls. Third, my Grandma Seaver - she always thinks of me around this time of year and sends me recipes, decorations and other fun stuff.
A few days ago I made this monster door wreath. I was so proud of myself. I decided to make it, took all the girls to the Hob Lob to buy the supplies, assembled the monster, and hung it all before Jake got home from work!
A week or so ago we went to a pumpkin patch and ate dinner with the Sawayas. Their neighbor owns the pumpkin patch close to our house - they gave us all our pumpkins for free!
(Jake couldn't take me seriously when I wore my teeny tiny witch hat)
These girlies are soooo cute together (as long as they don't have to share anything...)
For dinner I brought a creepy salad and side dishes. I used only stuff I had in my fridge and came up with some creepy things (thanks to Pinterest and Kandy's skills 2 years ago). Note: no one ate the witch fingers - they were too gross looking according to Jake.

The best costumes I ever had were when I lived with you. It must have just been a coincidence. :) Speaking of coincidence, did you mean to have your Halloween-colored sock in the picture? Haha. Love it!
Your girls are so, so, so, so cute!
That wreath is awesome. I must have one! Also, I don't know if you remember that costume idea I had for you, but I saw Doogie Howser's family dressed as it in a picture the other day, so maybe go ahead and not do that.
haha I didn't even realize my socks matched! happy coincidence!
funny you mention that, I just saw that picture and it made me think of you!
Love the wreath! Isn't that such a good day - when you get an idea to do something and then the kidders cooperate well enough that you actually get to do something you wanted to do?! Love those days!
And free pumpkins?! SWEET!! Last year we went out to buy pumpkins and when it came time to pay I almost had a heart attack - expensive!!
Love all your blogs; so fun to read after a long day at the office. Your door wreath is great and the girls look so cute in their outfits. How fun that your family will be there to celebrate Halloween. I can't wait to see you all on Thanksgiving.
That door wreath really is great. Maybe I'll take a picture of it and just hang that on my door.
I rarely have energy to build up the fun for Halloween; but when the 31st rolls around I always wish I had come up with a fun costume and thrown a party. Luckily, my kids get into the holiday. This was their second year running a spook alley through our yard.
