The Twins are 4 Months Old!

The twins went to the doctor for their 4 month well baby and shots on 9/10.

Siena
  • Height: 1 ft 11.25 in (10%)
  • Weight: 12 lb 2.0 oz (13%)
  • Head: 39.50 cm (8%)
Jaide
  • Height: 1 ft 11.5 in (16%)
  • Weight: 11 lb 8.9 oz (7%)
  • Head: 39.00 cm (3%)
The doctor couldn't believe that I'm still exclusively breastfeeding.  She said she uses me as an example to her young moms who want to give up on nursing early on "I have a mom of twins who feeds them both - at the same time!  If she can do it, you can do it!"  :-)  Dr. Tosto also said she loves the birth announcement I sent her and she shows it to everyone.  She thinks that Scarlett and the twins look just like me.  What lucky girls!  haha!

The first few nights back home the twins slept a 6 hour interval then a 4 hour chunk.  Since their shots though they've been waking up almost every 3 hours.  Agghhhh!!!!  I need more sleep!!!

Luckily they are starting to play, smile and even watch TV!  Last Saturday Siena even started giggling!  I love her little laugh!

They will cry when Scarlett cries.  That's just lovely.  Or when they're eating and one starts crying the other one will join in.  Usually one will start screaming if they have a big burp which makes the other baby scream.  But once I burp the first baby the second baby will stop crying too.  Silly girls.  They also cry while nursing if the other one pokes them (reasonable) or if I start talking when they want me to be quiet (unreasonable).

The other day I was packing up their 0-3 month clothes.  Scarlett was sitting on their bed with this orange flag that she loves.  She started waving it back and forth saying "go mommy, go mommy, go!"  haha!  I like doing laundry with a cheerleading section!

Scarlett had a bunch of random toys in her arms, she said "look mom, I a circus!"  hahahaha!  She cracks me up.  I can't believe how much she's been talking lately.  I think being around a bunch of adults for a month really helped her vocabulary.  Plus she had to talk a lot more to get them to help her out (whereas at home I know what she wants without too much speaking).  She's just a little person!

I think it is so fun when they really start talking and you can hear all the crazy things they think about.

I can't believe the twins are 4 months old!! That flew by. For me.

Feeling your pain on the sleep. Hang in there - some day you'll look back and wonder how you got through it. The important thing is that you WILL get through it. Go Jenni! You can do it!!

Really the no sleep things is about the worse part of having babies. This too shall pass...
You are a wonderful mother; hang in there.

Let me know if you'd like to loan a set of those clothes to a good cause- the Kate Rosella cause. I'll pay for shipping. :)

I can't believe they're already four months old! I was talking to a lady at story time yesterday (she was there with her granddaughter) and she said that when she was raising her kids, she felt like there were some reallllllyyy long days, but the years flew by. Scarlett will be three before you know it! It's amazing how grown up she's becoming.

Maybe I should hand my kids some flags and pom poms and get a cheer leading section going for my chores. Or maybe it's a genetic things and wouldn't work, and I'd just have kids debating with me. Like mother like daughter, right?
