We've had lots of people comment on how chunky Skye is - it made me curious how deliciously chubby she is compared to all the other girls. Probably a normal question, but here's where it got nerdy... I asked the nurse to print out all their measurements. I input everything into excel and made a Growth Curve chart. You can see the solid lines are their height percentiles and the dashed lines are the weight percentiles. Here are some interesting things to notice.... You can see the twirls were tiny preemies. Scarlett's height is really small cause she was breech and pike, they couldn't get her legs to lay flat for a few hours so I think the measurement was off. The twirls started gaining weight around 10 months when we switched to formula. Several times Scarlett's height has jumped up while her weight decreased, showing a growth spurt. You can see from these data points that Skye and Scarlett were similar in size. What I think is so interesting is that all off them gain weight, then around 7-8 months they all dip down in size. Interesting that they all follow that same pattern even with such different bodies.
Skye loves food now! She is really good at feeding herself small little puffs (and any little piece of trash on the floor, ugh!). I took this video so you could see how sometimes she uses two hands to get the puff in her mouth. So cute!
Fully enjoying her food usually requires taking a bath afterwards! Like daddy like daughter (haha).
I dug up these photos from the older girls during their messy eating months.
It's fun to put Skye in clothes that the other girls wore. I have so many memories of these different outfits. I took this picture of Skye right before a nap - she was not amused. The other photo is Scarlett at her first Christmas. I think that all my girls have their own looks (well, if you count the twirls as a single model), but I do think that they all have a strong family resemblance.
I just had to put Skye in this fluffy red dress that the twirls wore 3 years earlier.
February 26th Skye got her third tooth - top middle left tooth. She still won't take a binky to suck/soothe herself. But she likes to use them as convenient chew toys.
Some more random photos of Scarlett, Jaide and Siena around the time they were all 9 months old.
When most kids are learning to walk, my girls are just starting to crawl. What we lack in gross motor skills we make up for in chunky thigh cuteness! :-) Skye just recently learned how to roll back over onto her tummy. She's had the skills before now but no desire. But for the past month I've often found her sleeping on her tummy.
The other day I was singing to Skye while changing her diaper. I was just singing the song that was stuck in my head: Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap by AC/DC. Maybe I feel that song on a deeper level as I deal with a lot of dirty diaper deeds during my day! I'm pretty sure that's what AC/DC was singing about. haha!

And I love that you have a spreadsheet. I totally did that too! Haha. We are super nerdy. :-)
