January... when Uncle Kent came to visit

At 8 months Skye started playing peek-a-boo.  She will even hide herself.  I just love this video of her:

In January we had a wonderful surprise: Uncle Kent came to visit!  He had a conference in Detroit and stayed an extra day to hang out with us.  The girls really had so much fun with Uncle Kent and Jake and I enjoyed hanging out with him!  Skye warmed right up to him too!

Kent asked the Twirls "Do you like your dad?"  Jaide: "Ya I do."  Siena: "I like my mom."  haha we got a good chuckle out of that.  Thanks for hanging out with us Kent!!!

Siena

• "It makes me laugh like this" *giggles*
• Is into stuffed animals, always makes sure Skye has her bunny
• After she saw a bald guy: "No hair! No hair! Why no hair?"
• To me: "Can I have a tissue, angel?  You are an angel mommy."
• "Leave this open for me, got it?"
• At night Siena will wake me up to go potty, so I told her to just go alone.  "Can I go potty without a grown up?"  So much power!
• Siena likes back scratches to put her back to sleep in the middle of the night
• "Can I have a fruit snack, ya or no?"
• Siena calls hard boiled eggs "fresh eggs" and she loves to eat them

Jaide

• Playing makeup: "I'm going to use all the colors in town."
• "How come our feet are not hands?"
• Brought me a penny: "Can we do an experiment?"
• "It's too tricky."
• I was upstairs but Jaide needed to go downstairs.  I told her I was going to stay upstairs, so she found a solution "You come downstairs then come back up."  Can't deny the logic.
• Jaide woke me up in the morning: "I can't get this bead outta my nose".  I shot right out of bed.  Yes there was a bead up her nose, luckily it came right out. That girl...I asked her why she put it in there "cause baby Skye was going to take it from me" then she told me I had sticky breath!  haha!  You can see the red bead in the picture below...

The Twirls

• The Twirls LOVE the movie Rio - they watch it in the car, several times a week.  They quote it, sing along, even act out scenes while they play.  I haven't told them there is a sequel - they are going to freak!  
• After I wipe the twirls they will flush, shake their bums, then sing "Shake your booty on the potty."
• Jaide said something and I thought: "Wow she totally looked like Siena..."  haha!!!  I heard it after I said it (or thought it).  
• Girls call each other "my friends" - so cute!
• I heard the twirls... Jaide: "Thank you poke!"  Siena: "You're welcome stinky sock!"  Then they laughed and laughed

Scarlett

• "Let's engineer it!!"
• Scarlett likes to say "space pants" like SNL skit, twirls have space pants prints and Scarlett will sing "space pants" when they wear them
• Scarlett's hair stuck to her: "I have static electricity on me!"
• I put all the girls' towels in the dryer so they could be warm after their shower.  Scarlett put it on and said "ooo this feels like Utah!"  haha!  Thanks Grammy for setting the bar so high.
• I asked Scarlett how she liked her hot lunch at school: "Veggie nuggets are gross.  I thought I was going to throw up.  I like chicken nuggets only." haha I guess I don't need to worry about her turning into a vegan.
• Getting Scarlett ready for school, she looks at her hair "I need some color!" (a hair bow)
• On the way home from school Scarlett asked me to look at something she was holding, so I did, she said "You need to keep your eyes on the road girl!"
• (I was eating chicken in the car)  Scarlett: "Ew, our car is stinky.  I know it was you dad.  You have stinky breath."  haha!
• Scarlett: "I got a popcorn muffin today at school."  (it was corn bread)
• I found this video Scarlett made of herself with the front facing camera singing Soft Kitty.  Too cute!

• Scarlett gets herself ready for winter school days by putting on her gear before school.  They have to take snow pants, coat, hat, gloves, and snow boots.  Then if it's warm enough and they have everything they can play outside.  Otherwise she has to stay indoors.

One crazy weird day all my girls had potty accidents within 20 hours.  SIX total accidents.  Skye had a blow out.  Jaide in her bed at night (hardly ever happens).  And Scarlett and Siena right next to the potty, just didn't make in time.  It doesn't happen often.  Especially Scarlett.  So I have no idea why it all happened in one day.  It was weird.

The girls love to sit next to Skye, she will grab a a fist-full of their hair, but they don't want to be mean to her so they will just stay still and say "owowowow!"  haha!  Cute!

Skye
Jake and I went on a diet this year.  We started eating no-sugar added Popsicles at night for our treat.  Skye was very curious about them.  Turns out she loves eating them!  And it's just so cute!

Jake and I watched Lie to Me on Netflix.  Skye just LOVES the intro theme song.  The intro has a bunch of faces showing different emotions.  Skye just lights up when the faces appear:

My mom told me a quote "We should be kind to everyone we meet, because we don't know if they have a toddler at home."  hahahahahaha!!!!  Too true!

Ok, don't tell Jake I told you, but we found out that Jake got Top Achiever at work!  That means that for 2016 he was the top employee for his group!  Boo ya!  Go Jake!

Not only is he awesome at work, but he's the top Dad at home!  Here he is skating with Scarlett and smoking some meats.

Jake also dug out his old train set for the girls to play with.  Even Skye likes to chill with her daddy.  So cute!
