Great Sleepers

I love their little pony tails!!!!
I love that my babies are great sleepers.  Not sure how we got lucky with both of them - but I'm sooooo thankful that they sleep so well.  During their first nap I put them in their swings, turn on the noise machine, and Scarlett sings them a song (usually ABCs).  Then we just close the door and they fall asleep on their own.  Amazing!  They usually sleep for 2-3 hours.  Then most days they go down for like a 45 min nap right before dinner.

At night we do the whole routine: bath, wash helmets and binkies, lotion, jammies, bottles.  Then Jake and I take them to their room, burp them and rock them for just a minute, turn on their noise machine and their star light, lay them down in their cribs, and close the door.  Usually they don't cry or make any noise.  Then they wake up 12 hours later.  TWELVE HOURS!  No rocking, no singing, no books.  I sometimes feel bad that they've become accustomed to such a minimal routine.  But I'm pretty sure that I didn't read or sing to Scarlett when she was this small either.  So I'm just enjoying the simple days while they last.
A few days ago, after getting everyone out of the bath, Jake noticed a little tiny baby poop in the middle of the floor.  We have no idea how it got there.  ???  Then a few min later we noticed another big baby poop on the chair in the bathroom.  We are still mystified as to how that happened.  But I'm more concerned that there might be other poops hiding in our house that we haven't found yet!

I took the twins to the helmet place this week for an unscheduled adjustment.  Jaide's head had some red marks from the helmet that didn't go away during their one hour "off" time during dinner.  (usually the marks disappear after fifteen min or so - which is normal).  Siena's head measured the same but Jaide's head went through a little growth spurt.  Now they both have C.I.'s around 90!  Molly reshaped the front of the helmets (by heating them up) to give them a little more room to grow.  I'm guessing that she'll put more foam in at our next appointment.  All the heat from reshaping had messed up their brand new stickers and Jaide's jewel fell off.  So I need to redo them - again.  But the people at the helmet place loved their new bling.  :-)

I can't even tell you how many times I found mystery poop on the floor. It is nice when that phase ends.
:-)

YAY for sleeping 12 hour nights!! And don't feel bad about not having elaborate routines - the simple life is the good life.

Those pony tails are darling. One thing I missed out on by having 3 boys.

I don't remember any of my children sleeping that much; that's awesome. It makes sense that they are sleeping so much when they are going through growth spurts. Love the cute little ponytails. If there is going to be mystery poop, maybe I should clean carpets after your visit.:)

I'm SO glad they're such good sleepers. And I LOVE those little ponytails! Those girls are so cute. I need to find a way to see them and snuggle those cute faces!
