The twins had their first helmet check up after 3 weeks of wearing them. They showed a little improvement, even in that short time (which included the break-in period)!
They don't seem to mind the helmets. But I can tell they like when we take them off for dinner. They reach their tiny little fingers up to their head and scratch, scratch, scratch. Sometimes I feel bad that their baby arms can't make it to the top of their head so I will sit and scratch it for them. They love that! They also like when we click our fingernails on the helmet when they're wearing it. Or sometimes I blow in one of the vent holes (gotta cool them off). After I nurse them (tandem style) they like to poke each other and play. They often bang heads which used to be a problem - not with the helmets! They are really starting to show their little personalities. They love playing with whatever toy the other twin is currently playing with: binky, butterfly thing, chew rings, mom's face, etc.
I had to take them to the doctor for part 2 of their flu shot. It was a crazy day: I tried to rearrange their naps for the appointment, had to take Scarlett to a friend's on the way, woke the babies up and started undressing them on the table. The nurse walked in "I have some bad news. It's only been 23 days since the first shot. We can't give the second shot until 28 days. I'm so sorry that they scheduled you for today." Ugh. I know it's not her fault, and the receptionist was probably really busy that day, but I was frustrated at how my whole day was ruined for nothing. Then we had to repeat it a week later. Oh well. When we finally went back the girls were great. They only cried for a minute.
I have a real problem when it comes to dressing them alike. A real problem. I even match the onsies they wear under their coordinating sleep sacs. I realize that they will someday choose their own clothes - I guess I'm having my fun while I can! And I color code them whenever possible. Jake does it too. He often feeds them while I'm making our dinner. He ALWAYS puts Jaide in the green bumbo and Siena in the purple one. He's so cute! He even rinses out their bowls between courses "they don't want chicken messing up with their pear dessert!"
Oh they are so sweet! I love to cuddle my little girls. All three of them! The twins are starting to grab my face and pull it in for a wet, slobbery kiss. Sometimes when I'm burping them, they will pat my back. At night after I feed them, I will burp them individually. While they are on my shoulder they will look back and forth from the Dream Lite to the sound machine. So much to explore! Jaide has bitten me four or five times (little snips, but they still hurt) Siena hasn't bitten me (yet). This is their current trick (we take when we can get).
Jake noticed that Jaide sticks her tongue out when she smiles at us

I love your new blog layout! Super cute!
Oh my gosh- in the clapping feet video when you zoom in on the girls and show their teeth, their eyes are SO BLUE! What beautiful little ladies!
They are so darling!!!
I was watching the helmet scratching video while Nate was in the room but not looking. Let's just say, the sound was a little strange without the video :)
Yay for showing improvement- every little bit helps.
The itchy head video made me sad, but I did have to turn it on and listen to it without watching just to see what Christy was talking about. -Hilarious and a little inappropriate-
I cannot believe how much they interact with each other- they will have so much fun as they get older and get into so many things together- I'm sorry.
Hopefully everyone who has a baby who needs to get a flu shot will log your experience into their memory bank and make sure that does not happen to them- what a bummer.
I have a video of you about that age clapping your feet. I will have to get that onto a dvd- that is my goal this year- get all our videos and such onto dvd.
Love the tongue smile- love all their smiles.
Love those chunky babies!! They're so darling!
