Merry Christmas!
After the girls were asleep we played Clue - a Christmas tradition! We even had enough players with Jami joining on the iPad (in case you were wondering, it was Miss Scarlet in the Dining Room with the Lead Pipe).
We Skyped Jake's parents - he and his dad have the same sense of humor!!! ;-)
Christmas morning was magical and exciting with Scarlett and the twins. Scarlett was so excited. The first thing she said when she woke up was "we open our presents right now?"
"one horse broken sleigh"
Eating Eggs on the Golden Rod - another favorite tradition!
The Elf made me do it....
Since we couldn't find any Paw Patrol toys (since it's a new show), Jake and I got creative and found toys that were similar to the dogs and vehicles on the show. She LOVED her new fire truck and fire pup, Marshall.
Assembling the new dresser for Jaide and Siena's room.
Watching us put their new dresser in their room.
Jake and I tried to make the most of our first Christmas away from our homes (except his mission). We had a great time but we really missed our family. We are thankful that we can stay in touch with video calls, but we are really looking forward til we see you again. We love all of you and hope you had a very Merry Christmas too!

We missed you too, but I love that your little family is independently starting your own traditions. Comment on the Clue game: the picture shows Miss Scarlett in the dining room, but where is her lead pipe?:) Precious times for sure.
Awww, the first Christmas away from home is hard. It gets easier as you get more settled in your traditions.
And I DO judge your Christmas Eve dinner. I judge it DELICIOUS and a magnificent idea. Our tradition is that I spend 2 solid days in the kitchen cooking elaborate Colombian meals. Maybe I'll work the cinnamon rolls/lil smokies in one of these years. Sounds divine. :-)
Love the Christmas portrait- you all look beautiful/handsome!
Dinner sounded delish--I love the girls all in their diapers sitting at the table. Could you imagine how NOT OKAY if it were you and Jake sitting in your undies at the table. ha ha Sometimes a double standard is necessary.
Playing Clue with Jami was a great idea- it made her otherwise dull Christmas Eve with the dad and mom bearable.
SKYPE- awesome technology!
It was great to see all the smiles on your faces- you managed to have a wonderful holiday despite the absence of family- cause you had each other.
Eggs on the Golden Rod- breakfast of champions!
The twirls's outfits are darling and YOU ARE OUT OF CONTROL (meant as a compliment) with the cute helmet accessories. Santa hats- nice!
I am glad Scarlett saved Marshall and oh the things that will be getting wet when she figures out how to fill that herself. ha ha ha
I'd love to see the finished dresser.
The twirls are such big girls sitting there playing and their little heads peaking over the pillow- too cute.
I can't wait to sing pink pony, yellow pony, blue pony with her.
Please explain what eggs on the golden rod are???
I love how the twins' have tufts of hair poking out of their little helmets.
We missed you too, but I'm a big believer in staying home for Christmas. Looks like it was fun!
What a fun Christmas!! It's hard to be away but it looks like you're doing a great job at it. And the girls look like they had an awesome time!!
Relaxing at home with the fam sounds like a nice Christmas indeed. I'll be the second to ask, what are eggs on the golden rod?
