So last week I got a cold that affected my asthma. Oxygen is one of a few things that the mother uses before the babies get any. Normally the little parasites take whatever they need - but not oxygen. So it's one of those things you just don't mess around with. I went to the doctor and left with an arsenal full of strong breathing meds - including my favorite: Prednisone *sarcasm*.
Friday I was still so sick that Jamie came and got Scarlett. She ended up with her all day while I took a sleeping pill. (Thank you!)
Sunday rolled around and I was still doing my neb round the clock. Not good. Sunday night (last night) was awful! In addition to phlegm blocked airways, uncontrolled asthma, and a sinus headache I also had a bunch of wicked contractions (did I mention pain is an asthma trigger for me?). Nice. Luckily one of our friends came over and helped Jake give me a blessing (LOVE THE PRIESTHOOD!)
This morning I called the doctor to see what they thought. I went in to my normal OB for an NST. Baby A's heart rate was above normal - which is probably from all the albuterol I've been inhaling. But they wanted to be sure so they sent me to the hospital for more NST monitoring over there. Scarlett was at a Laura's house (thank you so much!!!) and I had convinced Jake to stay home with me - so it was just the two of us that went over to the Labor unit (well, 4 of us...)
After a long afternoon, it was decided that both babies are doing great - it's just me that's really suffering right now. I guess that's good news. I tried everything in my power to get them to take the babies out (we're here, you're here - let's make this happen people). But alas, apparently I don't have the gift of persuasion.
Right after we got home I threw up everything I had ever eaten thanks to a squarely placed kick to my stomach. And I'm pretty sure that Jake and Scarlett are getting sick too. Lovely. Only 8 more days til the first round of reinforcements arrives - I can't wait!!!

Hang in there! We have seen what you are capable of, and it is impressive!
And you are in our prayers morning and night.
You can do it!! Wish I were there to help. Also, if I were there, then I wouldn't have to take my finals, so everyone would win.
I'm glad the babies are okay, but super sad you're suffering. I think it's milkshake time.
You can do it! You are one of the strongest women I know! On the bright side, after going through this experience, everything else in life will seem like a piece of cake, right?! You're always in my prayers too. Good luck!
Oh I wish I was there to take care of you! :-( Hang in there just a little bit longer! The end is near - just hang in a little bit longer. You are awesome!!
I'm so sorry you are suffering. Sick on top of being pregnant is miserable. I hope you find some relief. And bless your friends for taking Scarlett.
I can't believe your tiny body has kept those babies in there this long. It's amazing. Sorry you have been sick. That's really rough when you are pregnant, especially when you're so close to your due date.
PS one of my words I have to type to post my comment is "deliver". I'm pretty sure that means you are going to have your babies soon. ; )
Even though you're feeling awful, it's good that you're recording all this. Looking back on trials is helpful in seeing how much strength you've gained.
