34 Weeks - Part 2

I saw my normal OB yesterday.  My belly measured 41 cm (aka 41 weeks).  But a lot of the growth I've had lately has been horizontal and they only measure vertical.  In fact, Twin B is really good at sticking her limbs around me - like on my side.  Her leg/arm is where my right elbow is when my arms hang at my sides.  It's way weird looking and feeling.

I'm dilated to 0.5 cm and around maybe 60% effaced.  Twin A is still high up in my pelvis.  So basically nothing.  I was really hoping to be further along - especially with some of the wicked contractions I've had... but looks like they want to stay in me!

The NST went well.  Their heart rates were a little high because I had to do my nebulizer before the appointment.  I've had a cough/cold all weekend.  Way to kick me when I'm down.  My hands and finger tips are all swollen and numb.

She told me that it seems like my body was made to have these babies.  She's even surprised that I don't have a stretch mark (yet).  Even though I'm uncomfortable I'm really grateful that everything's gone so well.  Less than three weeks - I can do it!!!

I found this note on our fridge:

NST:

PS - I realized that my last post may seem like I'm being a little harsh on Utah.  We love Utah.  Most of the people we love are in Utah.  Many of our hobbies are in Utah.  Utah's great.  The truth is I have to focus on Michigan's strengths and Utah's weaknesses in order to feel happy here.  But I miss Utah.  I miss all of you who live there.  I miss being with our family during all the little holidays.  I'm sad that Scarlett doesn't get to hang out with her cousins often.  I can't wait til our next visit back home.  But  Michigan's been great to us.  We love our house.  We love our ward.  We love our friends.  We're making it work.  I just don't want you to think that we're hatin' on Utah.

YAY! So glad you're still going strong. I'm surprised your tiny body was made to have twins, but that's awesome.

And for what it's worth, I didn't think you were being mean toward Utah. :)

This Utahn wasn't offended. I took Cosmo to Boston with me when he was 18 months old. I couldn't believe all the attention we got with me being under 30 and a mother already! My friend that I hit the town with had just had her second baby. Seriously, the attention was super fun!

Now about this post. I've been feeling sorry for you and your discomfort and all that, but you lost it all when you said you have no stretch marks. I get a stretch mark just bending over to pick something up of the floor. Yep, I'm just gonna sit her and be angry/jealous of you for a while.

I had no stretch marks in my first pregnancy, but when I came home from the hospital I was covered with them. I thought that was the weirdest thing.

Totally get the Utah thing. I do the same thing. :-)

You are doing so super awesome - keep up the good work!! Love you!

I am so glad you finally got to see a "normal" OB- I sure hope the abnormal ones didn't give you bad information.

I love the sweet note that Scarlett wrote you. Writing it on a sticky note was such a nice touch, she knows how much you love your sticky notes.

Hang in there, help is soon on its way.

NO stretch marks?! I wonder how many babies it would take to give you a stretch mark? Oops, did I just jinx you with triplets next time? ;o)
