When you have to go potty stop and go right away, flush and wash and be on your way!

Recently our toilet paper holder started pulling out of the dry wall.  So on a whim we decided to redo our half bath over the labor day holiday (well, I decided - Jake just went along with it).

We went to Home Depot Friday night to gather our supplies.  I was surprised that we agreed on a color within minutes.  Scarlett was so excited that we chose blue!

I spent Saturday painting.  And Monday we put together the hardware and new shelf that I ordered from Target.com.  I also spray painted the brass light fixture to black.  We moved the TP to the "right" side and more forward.  It's much easier to use now - especially for Scarlett.

Here are the Before/After Pictures:

Hard at work:

Scarlett really wanted to keep painting so we moved her into the kitchen.

Up close:  (yes, that's the pee pee TP line)

I covered a shoe box with contact paper to make a container for the "lady supplies".

Oh, did I mention we got a cat?

Do you recognize this song?  It's from Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood and since we sing it EVERY time someone goes potty, it made sense to use it in our decor.  I made this sign but had to change it to B&W cause the colors didn't match.  Anyways, feel free to use it too!

Pee pee tp line? Where were you 10 years ago? How did I get through four kids without figuring out that little piece of genius?! I love love love the color. The whole thing turned out great. Where did you get the contact paper? I've been looking for cute contact paper to put in our shoe shelf, but I can't find anything remotely cute.

I have that bathroom song hanging in all of my bathrooms too! I find it's a great motivator.

I have a problem with contact paper. It's an illness, I look for it everywhere I go. I think I bought that one at Target, Walmart, or Meier. But the pattern I used above my fireplace I ordered off of Amazon.

Haha! At least I don't have to worry now about you forgetting to wash your hands ;-)

Love it! You guys did such a nice job. It's crazy how a few updates can really change the look and feel. I think Paul and Jake would be able to commiserate- Paul is often my slave labor when it comes to projects.

And thanks for sharing you pee pee TP line- I'll have to remember that with Kate.

Love the color! And I, too, wish I'd thought of the tape line. I always just had them count squares.

Love the color. And we finally got Jack to sing the song, and he gets excited and will actually sit on the potty. We may just get him potty trained after all.
