The twirls just learned to say "hot dog" and yes, their very limited vocabulary also includes "pizza". I do feel a teeny tiny bit guilty that they don't know the words "certified organic" or "reduced sodium" but there will be many years in their future for eating that healthy crap. I try to get them to eat a variety of food and they really are great eaters! But at the same time it's ok for them to enjoy treats and fun snack foods too. Jake told me that in junior high he would take his lunch money everyday and buy a can of Pepsi then a slice of pizza or a hogi sandwich or a pint of ice cream or a bread stick and nacho cheese or a bag of chips and a cookie. Then he would get a box of chewy gobstoppers to eat in English class after lunch! So ya, healthy food is really ingrained in their DNA.
Scarlett enjoying popcorn and a movie during baby nap time (aka mommy nap time!)
One morning I woke up and Scarlett was sitting next to my bed eating a slice of pizza from dinner the night before. She looked at me and asked "can you turn a show on for me?" That's my girl!
Look at Jaide dressing up as Siena! haha! It seems like she often gets a piece of red food on her right cheek. Not her left. Always her right.
These girls love to eat! Look at them chompin down on their asparagus and watermelon!
One day Scarlett asked me for a bowl. Then she filled it up with ice, sat it on her tiny table, pulled a chair over, and just stared at it. I asked what she was doing: "my 'speriment"!! Love her little scientific mind! I explained that ice takes awhile to melt, so we should come back later. Well the babies found it before we did and cold water went all over the floor. She started crying "my 'speriment is ruined!" I told her she could start the experiment over with new ice. So she took her bowl over to the freezer and filled it up again. Determination!
We've been off formula for a like two months now. And I haven't given them breastmilk since earlier this year. So imagine my surprise when I found these in our deep freeze! I thought about giving them to the twirls since deep frozen milk lasts about a year. But I decided it just seemed like more work than it was worth - especially since they're not used to the flavor anymore. I was going to donate them until I thought about all the medicine I take and Diet Pepsi I drink... so I ended up throwing them away. Sad. But I am grateful that I was able to provide my girls breastmilk for as long as I did (though, after bottle feeding them for a few months I have a different, more positive attitude toward formula, but breastmilk is still the best price!)
We had all 4 missionaries from our ward over for dinner one night. We invited the Sawayas too. Jake wanted to smoke drumsticks - so we made 4 different flavors. We wanted all those hard working boys to be full - so we cooked up a TON of meat! It was so tasty that we barely had any left overs! As you can tell from this picture, Jake takes his smoking very seriously!
For the watermelon, I tried this new technique for cutting it up. It worked pretty well. I just need to get a sharper, longer, serrated knife and it will be super fast.

Jake's lunch is the same I would eat in high school. My goal was to eat as little as possible and pocket the money. Then I'd eat two PB and honey sandwiches as soon as I got home. Love the experiments!
Pizza and hotdog are two VERY important words.
