(the lawn needs a little TLC)
We signed the papers on our new house today! Woot woot!!!
Inaugural dinner in our new kitchen.
Photos of our new house!!! :-D
The sellers from the
red house contacted us a few weeks ago and said they would come down to the appraised value on the home if we cut the realtors out of the deal. Both Jake and I felt that was dishonest - since the realtors had already done tons of work. So we passed on the deal. We were so nervous that we would never find another home (dramatic, I know). A few days later our realtor called us and said that there was a home that just went back on the market because the previous buyer's financing had fallen through. We walked through it and LOVED it (ironically you can see the red house from the back porch)!!! So we put an offer in ASAP. Turns out our offer wasn't the highest they received, but their agent called and said they were looking for buyers who could close FAST. The sellers are already moved out and were pretty desperate to sell (I think they got a job out of state and were paying 2 mortgages). Since we had already started the buying process with the red house, we were able to prove that we could close in less than 15 days - CRAZY! We got the house!!! The appraisal and home inspection all came back favorable. We love this house, and now it's ours!!!
It has a 2.75 car garage, finished basement, 2nd floor laundry, granite/stainless steel kitchen, playroom for Scarlett, and great landscaping. We are going to ask our ward to help us move everything on Sat Aug 25 so we have time to clean the house first. I have already scheduled air duct and carpet cleaners for next week. Did I mention we're soooooooooooo excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, I blogged stalked you, but congratulations on buying a house! It is so fun to be a home owner!!! Something so rewarding to call a house yours, you know? Anyway, just wanted to say congrats!
That's awesome! Congrats. I was wondering when we were going to hear more house news. I'm so jealous of all the furniture buying you get to do now. It looks like a beautiful place!
Yay! Yay! Yay! So happy for you guys! You new place looks amazing! I'm just sorry we're not there to help you move and assemble some cribs or something.
And Jen, did you get rid of your pink hair?! Please say you didn't I love it so much.
SO EXCITING!!!! I am so sad we missed it by one week! I can't wait to see it in person! Miss you guys like crazy!
Yippee! I love the camp chair dinner. You're going to have lots of good memories in that house.
Is it in the "good" school district? Looks like a good neighborhood. Congrats!
Yay!! Congratulations - it looks beautiful!!
P.S. Buying that other house without your realtor wasn't just dishonest, but super illegal. Way to stay out of prison!
It's a lovely home. Wish I were there to watch your little princess while someone else did all the moving! Glad you are soon going to be all settled in to your new home state.
awesome. i want to come visit now :)
Congrats!! That is WAY exciting! We close on our house on the 28th, so I can totally relate. Looks like you got a beautiful home!!
I LOVE your house and I'm happy that this one has a finished basement. A whole floor just for me! Oh, you shouldn't have. :) Really, though, your house is making me itch to come visit. I have faith that I can score some $200 round trip tickets.
I'm so glad that your parents and Jami were able to visit- it looks like you and Jake showed them a good time! Also, I love your faux hawk and the last two pictures of your previous post-- the ones with Jake being bored. Ahahaha. It made me laugh out loud and then I explained it to Paul even though he had already read your post.
Well, congratulations on your new house!! :) I see you got a lot of space around your house, and you can add even more greenery and flowering plants. It would be healthy for your family, and it can create a comfortable ambiance in your home. I hope you’d let us in again via another blog update when you’re finished setting things up! ;)
