The appraisal came back from our house much lower than we or the seller expected. The school district boundaries just changed and it's no longer in the ritzy district... I suspect that has something to do with it.
Anyways, the seller wasn't willing to come down as far as we wanted, so we walked away. Minus appraisal and inspection fees (ouch!).
We walked through another beautiful house today - with a finished basement! So I'm not worried. Just frustrated at having to start over again. And annoyed at the other sellers. And a little hungry.

We just got our house appraised and it came in waaaay lower than I expected. Booo to appraisals!
Bummer! You'll find another beautiful house - it is worth the wait so that you can get in to the schools you want. Hang in there!!
I just watched the link to the new house you offered on. Gorgeous! Is it in the same neighborhood? Different school district? The floor plan, back yard, etc. look similar. The finished basement is a huge plus!
