Put Your HAIR Up and Your WINGS Out (Twirls Turn 4)

I can't believe the Twirls are 4 now!  On the morning of their birthday (May 2) Siena asked me "Am I four today?  [yes]  But I'm not much bigger...."  haha!

Before their birthday Scarlett said "Twirls on Tuesday you will be four and you'll be able to speak like me."  haha!  I guess we need more speech therapy!

The twirls have been able to buckle their own carseats for a little while, but lately they've been practicing unbuckling.  Once day Jaide unbuckled her seat and loudly exclaimed "I did it!!"  Siena responded "It's cause you're four now."  haha!  Right after that when Jaide was getting out of the car she wanted to jump, so Grammy held out her hand like she normally does.  Jaide said "I'm four now, I can do it myself!"  and she did!

The twirls wanted a Rio and Trolls birthday party, they LOVE both of those movies and watch them over and over and over again.

For their party my mom and I made troll hair for all the guests using tulle, headbands, and sparkly foam stickers.  The older girls loved them, Skye did not... 

While we waited for guests to arrive we had free play and coloring pages.

We played "pin the feather on the bird" in honor of Rio.  I couldn't find any Rio stuff so this was our only nod to the movie.

Story time with snacks.

Then we played Picture Charades.  I was so impressed with how brave the kids were!  Even the shy kids participated.  They were more willing to play this then to pin the feather on the bird!  

I made these cupcakes in ice cream cones with cotton candy hair.  Within an hour their hair went from voluminous to flat!  Darn humidity!!!  It was hilarious and luckily we had more cotton candy to redo the hairdo!

Singing Happy Birthday (you'll hear Jake at the beginning tell me to hold their Troll hair up - don't want them to fall in the flames and catch on fire!!!)

Opening presents.  I was so impressed with what creative and thoughtful gifts they got.  Almost everything was green and yellow color-coded.  haha!  Several of my friends handmade their gifts too!  It was fun to see the gifts match the personalities of the senders too.  What thoughtful friends we have!

While parents came to pick up kids we turned on Rio and Trolls music and had a dance party.

Skye found 2 glow sticks and quickly turned them into drum sticks.  This girl LOVES to drum!!!  She cracks me up!!!

We had a little family party the next day.

Opening their Little Live Pets Tweet Talking Birds (they LOVE these things!), Siena just cracked me up...
