Skye is ONE!!! We love our beautiful Skye. She is a ray of sunshine and such a joy in our family!
For Skye's birthday we invited some of our "framily" over for lunch. As a true diva, Skye napped through most of the party - choosing to be fashionably late. Since my mom was in town we went to Costco the day before and got a bunch of chicken salad croissants - YUM!!
I was just going to use a slice of chocolate cake for Skye's first cake. I'm glad my mom was there, she talked some sense into me and I ended up making her a little cake with clouds - Sky themed for Skye! I think she was overwhelmed at all the people looking at her and singing at her. She was so timid about touching the cake. But she seemed to enjoy the little bits she ate.
When we were at Costco we picked up a chocolate cake with balloons. The bakery put her name on it for me. It was soooo yummy!
Ribbon pull pinata. Ironic that as soon as the kids pulled the ribbons and the candy fell Skye started crying and I had to take her to the other room. It's her party she can cry if she wants to!
One thing we learned about Skye during that birthday week was how she LOVES balloons. Oh my goodness she was sooooooo adorable! Look how she fell asleep holding it. During our little photoshoot I tried to take the balloon away and she cried and cried. She just loves them!
The day of Skye's birthday she bonked her head three times! Poor thing! She had 3 bruises that night. She LOVES to drum. If you know Skye, you know that this girl enjoys a good beat. She dances to any song that she hears and uses anything she can to drum a rhythm. This girl doesn't crawl but she can reach and scoot to get things she wants. Look at that long stretch!
