You've got a friend in me!

Whitney came over to play one day - the kids enjoyed playing "5 little monkeys" in the trampoline.

Whitney was telling me how she and her sister cut Reese's hair but it was their first time and she didn't love how it turned out.  So we put Reese in a bumbo and I tried to clean it up - since, ya know, I'm a professional and all.  It wasn't fast (Reese was sooo patient!) but I think Whitney's happy with the results.  Reese looks cute no matter what haircut she has!

The Furnesses are back in MI!  YAY!  We celebrated with a disco tent, of course!

Abby is a favorite!  Even Skye loves her!

Laura invited us over for some slip and slide fun!

That warm sun was all Skye needed to take a long nap!

I took Skye with me to girl's night/goodbye party for Christina.  The waitress commented on what a good baby she was!  Whitney called her the "most chill baby ever", I love that!  She really is!

A few weeks ago our friends from Connecticut, the Sorich Fam, were driving across the country for their big summer trip.  They asked if they could pop in on their way!  YES!  Apparently our home is only like 45 min out of the way.  A few years ago the Bowes stopped by on their way to Utah too.  We were so excited to see them!  I haven't seen Lara since our Manchester Ward days (2008-09).  I remember when little Matilda was in nursery and just the cutest thing ever!  Even though we've added 7 more kids between us, it felt like no time had passed at all.  We had such a fun evening!  I remember one of the first times we really got to know the Soriches was at their epic Halloween party they would host at their house.  Obviously our love of Halloween bonded us instantly!  Both the 1970s costume and the LotR costume photos were taken at their house.

SIDE STORY:
A few weeks ago there was a young family visiting our ward (their parents are in the ward).  Anyways we chatted in the hall, the girl said: "You probably don't remember me.  My husband was in the MBA program with your husband.  I remember you guys from your Clue Halloween costumes you wore to the MBA Halloween party that first year."  YES!!!!!!

Look at how many adorable tiny humans we made!

Matilda wrote "Scarlett Red, Jaide Green, Siena Yellow, and Skye Blue" on our porch.  Apparently our "color" theme is a big hit!  :-)

I'm so grateful that they came to see us!  Sometimes I wish I could build my perfect neighborhood with my favorite people, they would totally be there!  And yes, you would be too ;-)

Putting that selfie stick to good use!

Great post!

That is a tremendous responsibility, knowing that people count on you to have Halloween costumes that they will remember for years to come. Any hints about this year's costumes? (Maybe each dress up as another member of the family? Who gets to be Skye?)
