Aunt Care-yin

Aunt Carolyn came to visit over 4th of July weekend!  Carolyn has a special love for Michigan since she lived here for a few years.  While she was here we tried to get out and explore a little more of our beautiful state.

We visited the University of Michigan Botanical Gardens.  We picked up lunch and ate it there.  It was windy - yes, we used baby dolls to hold down our napkins.

Then we enjoyed a stroll through their gardens.

We played hard!

Our next adventure was to check out Belle Isle.  We went in style...

Even the "The Spirit of Detroit" statue dressed up for our adventure.  It was decked out in Ford service day shirt.

Then we checked out the conservatory.

The girls had fun hanging with Aunt "Care-yin" in the back of the van - not sure if she enjoyed it being squished between their car seats.  

The girls were pretending to fall asleep on the ride there.

Then they actually fell asleep.  Siena even fell asleep with her sandwich in her hand.

I spent the 4th of July at home napping with Skye while Jake and Carolyn took the older girls on a hike at Maybury State Park.  I had matching red/white/blue shirts picked out for them to wear but the twirls wouldn't wear them cause the anchor picture on the front was " too scarwee for me!"

The girls had so much fun playing with Aunt Care-yin.  After she left they kept praying for her at dinner time and asking me where she was.   Scarlett even told us "Aunt Carolyn is now Princess Aunt Carolyn. *pensive pause*  Well Aunt Jami is the Queen."  hahaha!  Hey, at least you're royalty!

Right before Jake took her to the airport she looked at me - wearing my zebra zip up moomoo, hair askew, spit up on my shoulder, a drooling baby in my arms, and toys scattered all around me.  She said "keep it glamorous."  Then left.  hahahahaha!!!  I'm doing my best, Carolyn!  :-)
