The year for YW's the theme is 2 Nephi 31:20 - "Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and of all men. Wherefore, if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ, and endure to the end, behold, thus saith the Father: Ye shall have eternal life."
My friend Christina asked if I had any ideas for decorating our YW bulletin board. I noticed a lot of people used arrows to represent pressing forward. But most of the posters didn't include the entire scripture. Since we recite it every Sunday, we needed the entire text. I decided to go with the arrow theme and created an Aztec inspired image. I wanted to use all the value colors, so I came up with this. I also made a matching YW theme to match.
Here's a photo of our board, this year and last year's theme. Jami helped Christina and I put it together on Saturday night while Jake let the girls play on their bikes in the gym. We still need to add a few finishing touches - but I'm happy with how it turned out. I loved last year's board, but I wanted it to look and feel very different. I hope the girls will like it!
In November we had a combine YW activity. I taught the girls about frosting - based off the Wilton class I took a few years ago. It was a ton of fun (and chaotic)! I made 8lbs of frosting to use that night - it's so hard to estimate what you'll need. I have 2 lbs left over in my deep freeze.

Looks fabulous. I completely delegate our board to someone else...I have none of your skills!
The frosting activity looks so fun!! I've never been much for frosting, until I tried Swiss buttercream. Hello....yum.
