I haven't gotten into the Elf on the Shelf craze. No reason, just haven't done it. Well last year when Jami was visiting she used the bean bag frogs to create some Christmas magic. This year as Christmas loomed closer and closer Scarlett kept asking if the frogs were going to come again. It just sounded like more work for me. Luckily Jami was in town again to spread the magic. With only one dilemma: the frogs may or may not be in our possession at this time.... (Carolyn, how's that for ambiguity?) so we had to come up with another idea. This year we decided to make their puppies come alive.
These girls LOVE their puppies! Look how cute - I found them like this one day. Apparently the twirls wanted to feed them dinner. haha!
Jami found these Christmas sweaters to aid in their magical adventure. Thank goodness last year the frogs only came out a few days before Christmas. 5 days was enough work, I can't imagine 25! (power to all you folks who get creative for a whole month!)
Dec 21 - wrapping presents
Dec 22 - setting up the nativity
Dec 24 - Christmas cooking
I'll admit that their joy made it all worth while. But part of me was still grumpy at having to be creative after the kids were in bed - that's when mom is "off duty!"

You are an amazing mom - my boys were telling me about the SUPER COOL elf on the shelf and I shut that down so hard and fast that somewhere an elf may have died from my powerful hatred. Hehe.
Very clever ideas though - I'd never know what to do (or remember to do it...)
Those little pups are such rascals. I love the picture of the girls and the pups around the island.
