Canvas Cloaks, Sock Hands & Tampon Necklaces

Jaide truly loves to dress up.  If you leave your shoes out, she will put them on.  If you leave the closet open, she will find your shoes and put them on.  If you come to our house and take your shoes off, she will most likely try them on.

The front, right wheel on our collapsible wagon (that we love love love) broke off.  When we were looking at it, it looks like the weld wasn't done properly.  I took it back to Dick's Sporting Goods and they gave me a new one.  The new wagon has a reinforcement little structure right where ours broke - so apparently we weren't the only people rocking 3 wheels.  Anyways.... the new wagon came with a canvas cover that I'll probably never use.  But Jaide thought it was awesome.  She wore it around the house for several days - a little canvas cloak.

One morning I came in the twirls' room and Jaide had freed her arm from the restricting cotton jammies.  Silly!  Jaide likes to build towers out of these little crackers.  And one day she kept trying to ride her police car.  Haha!

Lately Siena has been wearing a sock on her hand.  Just one sock on one hand.  She doesn't make it talk like a puppet, nope, just acts like it's a glove.  Haha!  I have no idea where she got that idea.  She will wear it for like 20-30 min before it's just too in the way and she takes it off.  What a goof ball!!!

Can you see Siena?  She's really been into hiding from me.  She will even stand really still behind a curtain or in the closet do I don't hear her.  Little stinker!  I hope she doesn't try to play that game when we're out in public somewhere.

When I ask them to "say cheese" Siena will yell "eeeeese!" and give me a huge fake smile:

Siena loves to say "ticka ticka tickatickaticka" and tickle everyone:

Siena thinks it's funny to point to a member of our family and say the wrong name, usually while we're all at the dinner table eating.  Then she will laugh this really funny fake laugh.  This video shows her fake sneeze and her obsession with drawing circles:

Remember how we figured out that the twirls are mirror twins?  Well their natural hair parts are on opposite sides of their heads.  Siena on the left, Jaide on the right.  So usually when I pull their hair in a little pony, to keep it out of their eyes, I put them on opposite sides of their heads (away from the part).

They are really starting to play games and be silly.  One night their dream light kept switching colors.  When the light was off they'd say "where'd it go?" then when it came back on "there it is!" Then they would laugh.  Over and over.  They also like to eat food off the floor like little puppies and sometimes they give each other rides...

They also think it's funny to pretend to be asleep, they even make little fake snoring sounds:

Both girls are really into hitting when they are mad.  Oh how I hate the hitting.  I tried making them sit in the corner for time out, like we did for Scarlett, but I just couldn't find a way to make it work well with two of them (cause usually I have to hold them there).  They often are in time out at the same time.  Either they will be fighting and hitting each other.  Or one twirl will see her twin get in trouble, so she'll go copy her bad choice cause they think that's funny.  So they both end up needing punishment at the same time.  Enter, the Penalty Box:

We only use this gate for "bad choices" now.  Sometimes they don't act like it's a punishment; they'll just laugh.  So I will take Scarlett in the other room and make her laugh - so they are missing out.  That really makes them mad (which is good, I want them to know they're in trouble).  Yes, sometimes they will hit each other in there, but usually they are so miffed at me that they'll just stand and cry while pathetically looking out.

If one of them goes in the Penalty Box, Scarlett will come running "Mom, what did they do to go to Time Out?" or "Thank you for putting them in Time Out Mom."  She's really into it, in fact, she likes to scream if they are hitting her so I'll come and she will just stand there and let them hit her so they will get in trouble.  Or she'll tell me "they need to go to Time Out Mom" to which I reply "Let me be the mom" or "you don't need to worry, I'm the mom." - I have heard my mom say those EXACT phrases to me growing up.  Circle of Life!

The girls all LOVE this fishing game.  Scarlett said "Oh no! My precious little Jaide!!! My precious little Siena!!!  They're in deep deep mean-fish water!  I need to save them with my row boat!  Oh! What a tricky little baby!!!"  haha!

Playing butterfly catch - Aunt Jami sent them these beautiful butterfly magnets:

One day Scarlett asked me, "mom, why don't two years olds like four years olds to whisper in their ears?"  Good question.  One day we got brave and went to Hob Lob AND Sam's Club:

Sometimes when I brush Scarlett's teeth I pretend to be a dentist.  One evening we had this conversation:
Scarlett: You be the dentist, mom.  So how are you doing today?
Me: Fine, and how are you?
Scarlett: I have a baby in my tummy.
Me: Is it a boy or girl?
Scarlett: A girl.
Me: What's her name?
Scarlett: I don't know, I'll have to see her when she's born.
Haha!  I don't know where she heard that.  I'm guessing she was listening to my conversation when my prego friend Sara came over.  I'm always impressed at what she picks up - and a little scared too!  She's always listening.

Scarlett pretending to be a rabbit.  Also, she found a tampon in my purse and wanted to know what it was.  So I let her open it and we talked about how it's a bandaid for mommies.  She wanted to play with it and at one point asked if she could put it on her necklace.  Oh my!!  haha!!! (for the record, I did NOT let her turn it into jewelry).

Hobby Lobby with three kids? You are brave!

Were you the one that stuck pads all over your mom when she was sleeping? Hahaha!

I definitely think someone (me) needs to make a tampon necklace for Scarlett. I'll put glitter on it so she'll never want to take it off. It'll be a great emergency supply item. Then we'll pin the heck out of it, it will go viral, we'll be asked to be on the Today Show. From there we'll start making more, go on Shark Tank and be everyone's hero. I'll have to get myself that Super Girl shirt to match Scarlett's.
