Hands On Museum

The Ford plants shut down for 2 weeks around Christmas (UAW).  So they let the salary guys have that time off too - whoo hoooo!  Since Jami was here and Jake was home - we had a 1/1 adult/kid ratio!  We decided it was a good time to head over to the Ann Arbor Hands On Museum.  I've been before with Scarlett and I knew that I couldn't do it alone.

By the time we got everyone ready, loaded up, fed, changed, etc etc etc it was late in the day.  When we walked in and bought our tickets we only had 2 hours til closing.  I was pretty stressed about the time but purposely didn't look at the clock so I could just enjoy the moment.

There is a huge room for "4 and under", this was the twirls favorite.  Especially the ball rube goldberg machine.  They could have spent all 2 hours right there.

We took the girls around the rest of the museum.  It's huge!  So many fun things to do!

This was Scarlett's favorite part.  It's a dark room where you can make your "shadow" on the screen and it does all sorts of cool effects.  I love this video of her dancing in there:

I was so impressed at how she could hold herself up!

About this time I finally looked at the clock, thinking that we had a few min left, only to realize that it had only been one hour!  All of us were shocked.  Shocked!  Jake said it had been the longest hour of his life.  Navigating through all the little kids.  Chasing after the twirls.  Lugging the diaper bag and all our coats.  Sweaty, hot, exhausting, and still another hour to go!  We took a snack break and then spent the rest of the time back up in the toddler room.

Aunt Jami built Scarlett a castle: (a few seconds after taking the second picture Scarlett karate kicked the building down.  I think I heard Jami cry a little haha!)

They finally announced they were closing (halleluja)!  The twirls were mad that we tore them away from the ball machine.  Jake grabbed the car while we waited patiently and quietly in the lobby.  Good thing too, or people might have stared at us as they left.  ;-)

Looks like fun! I was never brave enough to take my kids there alone - glad you had so many hands!
