Scarlett, Siena, & Jaide
When looking for names I wanted to find something that went with Scarlett. Strong, feminine names. Jaide and Siena were on our list with when we had Scarlett. I proposed the idea to Jake of using all color names. At first he wasn't in love with the idea - but I eventually wore him down.
We thought about doing "twin names" but decided since they already look exactly the same that they would probably want names that weren't too similar. Plus I didn't want Scarlett to feel left out.
When we decided on the names I told Jake that I didn't want to spell them like the color... since Scarlett wasn't spelled like the color either. Plus with the spelling we chose both names are 5 letters long and they use all the same vowels. I think Jaide and Siena look better together than Jade and Sienna.
Jaide is twin b - the wiggly sassy girl on my right side. Siena is twin a - the calm and cooperative girl with her head down in my pelvis on my left side.
We have been using yellow and green to color code their stuff and help keep everything straight. I know sienna can be more of a brownish yellow or even sometimes a reddish brown. It just depends at what you are looking at, but we just went with yellow to make it easy. Plus yellow and green are easy colors to find baby stuff in (neutral). And we are still using red for Scarlett.
For their middle names we wanted to name each of them after one of their grandmas. We love our moms and I hope the girls will realize what wonderful and amazing ladies they are named after. My mom's name is Karry and Jake's mom's middle name is Katherine. We decided which twin got what middle name based on syllables. Since Jaide is one syllable we gave her the longer middle name.
We love their names and hope they will too!!!
(PS - thanks Jenny Lee for the clever title to this blog post!)

If I had twins I would absolutely mix them up at least once. Per day. Love the color coding!
I can't believe you can keep them straight. I would be such a disaster. I would only be able to keep it straight if I had fraternal twins of different genders.
Can we start suggesting more color names? I've always thought Blue was an interesting boy's name; but to mix up the spelling a bit, it would have to be Bloo or Blewe or something weird. Just keep it in mind. :)
Beautiful names for beautiful giels...all 3 of them!
I agree--so smart to color code! I had a hard enough time with one baby at a time!
OOps, GIRLS, net giels...
Sorry, but I have to disagree with Mary. I know someone with a son named Blue and it just seems wrong to me. "old Blue" was the name of the very mean murderous gray mare that I had to ride; I hated her. One time she literally decided she was going to kick me to death; fortunately I had a pitchfork in hand and whumped her hindquarters with it and then made a run to safety. Also, some of Mal's hound dogs would have names like "Blue". Not a good name for a human being.
I love the twin's names and especially like the idea of the "Glauser Crayon Box".
I'm so glad you used the Crayon Box! New idea: Child reggae stars, the colors are perfect, and you could call them The Rasta Babies!
Further Instructions:
-never, ever cut their hair and start dreadlocking early
-buy steel drums
-move to Jamaica
-use only Jamaican accents to talk, they must start early!
