Splitz Gym

I know this is my 6th post today... I've been waiting to blog until we finished our taxes.  I was hoping it would motivate me.  Unfortunately, you can see from all the posts, that it didn't really work.

Our ward has a preschool where they each take turns teaching.  In addition to lessons they also have field trips.  Well for their recent field trip they went to Splitz Gym here in Canton and they invited a few of the younger kids to tag along.  This was Scarlett's first time at a gym and (I think) her first time on a trampoline (???)  She LOVED it!!!  Man once she got the hang of everything she ran non-stop.  I just sat and recorded her jumping, running, and sliding into the foam pit.  She had a little tantrum when I wouldn't let her slide into the foam pit at first.  But I pulled her aside and explained that she had to wait for the other kids to get out of the way so she didn't hurt them.  I think the concept sunk in because she would sit at the top of the slide and wait til the bottom was all clear.

The gymnist in charge taught them to "freeze!" with their palms out (like saying "stop").  She's been doing that all week.  They also did little stretches before working out, it was so cute to see her copying the teacher: arms up high, touch your toes, etc.

She thought the foam pit was awesome even though it took her forever to maneuver around in there.

She didn't love the long trampoline that they were supposed to run across.  She mostly didn't care for the transition from hard surface to wobbly unstable surface.  But once she realized she could sit and scoot across the edge she was much happier.

She LOVED LOVED LOVED the yellow trampoline.  You have to understand, this girl likes to jump.  She jumps all day long all over our house.  She jumps in her crib.  She jumps over little objects.  So I'm pretty sure the trampoline was her favorite.

We had a full on melt down when it was time to leave.  All the kids had to sit in a circle and they got stamps on their hands.  Scarlett was pinned under my legs to keep her from running away while she screamed at me.  When the lady put a stamp on her hand she acted like it was a violation of her freedom.  She complained about it until we got home and wiped it off.

I took my kids to a trampoline place a lot like that for the first time just a couple weeks ago. They all had such a blast; it's definitely something we'll be doing again. I can't believe how grown up Scarlett looks just since December. Crazy!

That looks like a super fun place!

I am glad you posted six times, even if it means you didn't do your taxes. :)
