BOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

Well we ended up spending our Halloween quarantined in our home with a nasty stomach flu.  BOOOOOO!!!!!!!!  And not the ghost boo - the suck boo!

We got sick Sunday morning and had to miss church (they reorganized our ward, we really wanted to go).  We took turns sleeping while the other one watched Scarlett.  She had this flu last week so she was fine on Sunday.  Luckily she plays really well on her own, so it wasn't too miserable.

We were so so so sick!  I had to use 2 vacation days! :-( I threw up so hard that it made my c-section incision hurt (side note: my incision hasn't been hurting for the past few weeks).  Then after throwing up, I had to clean it all up (since Jake was really sick too I felt bad asking him to do it).  Being a grownup has it's disadvantages.

Monday evening we were still feeling if-y.  Jake put this sign up on our door:

So we decided to postpone our Halloween.  We're going to dress up with my family next week (the flu is making it's way through all our homes).  I will be putting up all our pictures after that.

So to hold you over in the meantime, here is some more info about our little lady...

Scarlett has her first tooth!!!!!!!!  We felt a little scratchy nubin on the bottom middle left this Sunday.  We can't really see it yet but it's there!

This is a video from last Saturday when we were in Logan with the Glauser family (she really loves dogs! luckily her dad was holding her, if it had been me she wouldn't have got to play with the puppy):

Also, here are some other things I don't want to forget: she sleeps on her left side a lot or her tummy, she loves playing with granola bar wrappers, she chews "air gum", since last week I've been letting her ride in the shopping cart seat instead of bringing her in her carseat (I have a little fabric cover that goes in the cart) - she loves it!, she can say "mama" and "baba" and sometimes "dada", she knows her name (in fact, the other day a character on TV was named Scarlett and she turned toward the screen every time they said her name), she waves at people if they wave at her, she claps whenever she's happy (like when Word World comes on), and she scrunches her nose when she's mad:

Also, she can sit up on her own now.  We lay her on her back and she uses her abs and arms to sit herself up.  We've actually only seen her get 93% of the way up before laying back down.  But yesterday when I wasn't looking she sat all the way up!

So cute!

SAD that you guys were sick for Halloween. If I'm sick for Halloween, it's not a big deal, because I don't really care about Halloween, but for you guys to be sick on Halloween is just plan wrong!

Fortunately, Scarlett is REALLY cute. That has nothing to do with Halloween, but she's so cute that life can't be too bad.

Also, 93% sitting up? Do you get out a protractor, my lovely little enginerds? ;)

I have been waiting for this post (I think I checked your blog three times the day after Halloween), but I'll just continue to wait in suspense! Agh it's killing me. (Very Halloweenish.) Thanks for the mummy idea- everyone loved it.

I was in Boise last weekend and Erin and I did this:

Also, I love these videos. She's such a happy girl!

And Parker just got his first tooth too! I've been checking his gums regularly and I felt it Tuesday morning. Just one more evidence of trying to be the same, just like their mamas!

Ugh, throwing up sucks. :-( Sorry to hear you've all been sick. So much worse when you have kids, because you can't just lay around and pray for the sweet release of death. When we had a bug last winter I was in the bathroom yorking, then in the kitchen passing out juice boxes and granola bars for breakfast before I headed back to the loo to barf again. It was just awful. I'm glad you guys are feeling better, and I can't wait to see your costumes!
