The twirls were playing with their tools. The light up mermaid's glow tail wasn't working, so Siena grabbed a screwdriver and "fixed" her. Once she was done fixing guess what? The tail started glowing again!?!?! I might have her start fixing other things around the house!
The girls were playing with Jake's walkie talkies. Every time Siena had a turn she would yell "stinky panties!" The girls thought that was hilarious.
They also think it's funny to pray for their place mats and "scub scouts" every single prayer. Every. Single. Prayer. Then after the prayer they will laugh and yell "I said place mats and scub scouts! haha!" Every. Single. Prayer. So that's been fun.
Girls gotta have shoes.
The girls were playing with our neighbor boys and I saw Jaide holding her foot in Karden's face yelling "smell my stinky feet!" haha! Oh my. Luckily he's the most patient big brother and wasn't phased. He even pushed the girls (and his little bro) in the swings all night.
The girls wanted to pick nail stickers. Then they each got to paint some of my nails.
Out of the blue one day when we were outside, Jaide turned to me and said "Sometimes pizza sauce gets messy on people." Truth.
Why do we buy toys when boxes are the favorite?
No matter how often we talk about toothpaste technique, their bathroom always looks like this. So finally we implemented a new procedure: they brush their teeth in the shower at night. Why have I been fighting the mess all that time! The shower works perfect! And they love it!
Yee haw! And this picture of Scarlett. 'Nuff said.
One day Scarlett brought the laptop outside. I asked her "what are you doing?" To which she calmly replied "I want you to teach me Japanese." Duh.
These girls have been so great at playing together lately (if everyone is rested with a full belly). I found the vinyl race track wall stickers at a yard sale for a buck!
Siena gets hangry (hungry+angry). She stomped over to me and declared "I want the twisty string cheese in my mouth right now!" After lunch she transforms back into her sweet self "Pancakes are so yummy in my tum-tum-tummy!"
I found this weird bruise on the back of Siena's neck one day. I spent several minutes trying to figure out what could have caused it before I realized that it was a rogue chocolate chip that melted on her while she was lying down. Speaking of melting... the twirls like to "melt" down the stairs.
I found these cuties in a box together. And another day they were playing dog house. They are so cute!!!
The twirls had their helmets on in the house one day and they ran around in circles for a good 10 min:
Amber came over to play with the twirls. Amber asked me "Why is your hair like a boys?" haha!
Scarlett and Kaylie went to "Safety Town" - a week long pre-kindergarten class focusing on different safety principles. Scarlett told me after class one day "The teacher thought Kaylie and I were sisters. And I met a handsome firefighter." haha!
At the beginning of August Skye started to give us real giggles. I LOVE baby giggles and squeals!!!! If you do too, then this video will make you happy:
Here she's showing off her new trick of spinning this toy. She practices several times a day to increase her performance, and she gives her workouts her full attention and focus:
Jaide was kissing her so I told her to hold still so I could take a picture. Then Siena wanted to join. Then Scarlett wanted in. Luckily Skye slept through all the "love".
Skye loves to chew her blue bird! And she figured out how to escape her swaddle. I decided to put her in her crib without her wrap to see how she did - she slept all 9 hours! Have I mentioned ANGEL BABY?
We wanted to see what Skye would look like with hair.
Skye loves bath time so much that she gets so smiley when we put her on the towel next to the tub:
Skye loves her daddy. These pictures makes me soooo happy!
We set up a porch umbrella, the girls just love to use tools to help daddy.
Horsey rides.
Listen to what Jaide says:
Siena has been riding the strider bike lately!
One day Siena was sitting next to me and poked my arm while saying "bounce bounce". Ugh. Thanks. Yes, I need to loose weight. 9 months of being sick and growing a human has not been kind to my body. The only problem is that I'm not willing to diet or exercise. haha! So ya...
We told them they could sleep in the tent. I told them that they could go and lay in their bed at any time. They told me that they didn't want to sleep in their beds. I went downstairs to feed Skye and turned on my phone to see how they were doing. Only 5 minutes and they were already in their beds! Thank goodness for Famping and not being stuck out in the wilderness!
Laura liked the idea of Famping so much that she invited us over for a Famping party!
The kids watched a movie in the tent - just like real camping!
Laura caught probably the only lightening bug left in Michigan. The girls were thrilled!
Siena LOVES to play with this tiny Barbie laptop at Rachel's house. It's the first thing she does every time we go there "where's my tiny 'puter?"
Lastly, the girls have enjoyed playing with Abby all summer. I'm sad that school started and I don't have my babysitter once a week. One day I came home and Abby was in the trampoline with the girls, sitting in the dark, with flashlights, listening to jingle bells. They lover her and so do I!

You have had a fun summer! Everyone is really growing up soooo fast! Much love Grandma
I love that Scarlett has her Halloween costume all figured out--NY's naked cowboy. Will everyone be a famous person from NY this year?

Oh the toothpaste thing! Genius! We're STILL fighting that battle. It baffles me - how hard is it to paste your brush, but not the rest of the bathroom??
Reading this brings back so many memories of the days when my boys were little. :-)
Camping! Oh how I dreaded it! For several years we "camped" in the back yard. That was our start to the real thing. Highly recommended (when room camping is no longer enough to satisfy them). Bedrooms nearby, clean bathrooms. We'd grill hotdogs on the deck for dinner, make s'mores over the grill. Then in the morning I'd make "camping" breakfast - pancakes, eggs, bacon, cocoa. They thought it was AMAZING. I would sleep in the house and they'd all just have "man time" out in the tent. :-) Happy memories! And my favorite way to camp!
Look how big Skye is! And these aren't new pics! Crazy. Smooch them all up for me please.
What fun and they are growing so fast!
