The week after Christmas Jake was outside with Scarlett when the trash guy came down the street. Jake ran in the garage and grabbed a Pepsi for the guy dealing with all the Christmas packaging. He was appreciative and said it was a tough week for sure.
Scarlett started saying "What in tarnation?" hahaha!!!! No idea where she picked that up.
After church one Sunday:
These little puppies like to kennel themselves...
The twirls surprise me all the time with what they know. Especially when I don't remember teaching them that specific thing! The twirls started pointing out all sorts of numbers, correctly. I bet they have known these for a while now, but they are finally using English instead of "twirlese".
The twirls have been really polite lately. To the point where they will say "thank you mommy" over and over til I finally say "you're welcome Siena/Jaide." I have to specifically say their name or they will keep saying "thank you mommy."
Siena always says "okay!" after we ask her to do something or "what?" if we say something - even when I know she heard. Jaide says "a ya" a lot in agreement with what we say.
Jaide calls Siena "nena" and Siena calls Jaide "baby" haha! not sure why she always calls her that, but it always makes me chuckle.
Silly girls wanted to wear their swimming goggles inside:
Silly girls are always being goofballs - they are "hiding" from me.
Scarlett loves to be "maked" so we decided to try and break her of that habit. I tried many things to bribe this sweet girl into wearing her clothes. Finally Aunt Jami told her that she would give her money if she wore clothes. So after some trial and error we came up with this arrangement: every day she wears clothes, jammies or her robe all day she gets to put a magnet on the board. Then at the end of the week if she has 7 magnets she gets $1. So yes, I'm paying her to wear clothes, but $4/month is totally worth it.
Scarlett declares her profession of choice:
Warming up by the fire....
Popsicles in the winter?! Yes please!
Jaide likes to be a pirate - arrrrhhh!
Jaide always wants a "snock" cause she's soooo "hungweeee" ...
Our lives revolve around food.
When they apples "like a ball!"
Friend time <3 p="">3>
With Jami here I was able to drive carpool. These kids were zombies with the TV on...
Our upstairs toilet started doing a weird clogging thing that we couldn't figure out. Even after several trips to home depot Jake finally agreed we needed to hire a plumber. When the plumber came he said this kind of clog is usually caused by a toy being flushed down. After he fixed it and left we asked the twirls if they flushed a toy. Siena said something about "broken" and going "down down down". haha! Oh my!
We have NOT started potty training. Mostly cause I am soooo sick, and I just don't want to deal with all the mess at the beginning. My mom is coming out in May so I think I'll wait til she's here ;-) Anyways, we still let the girls sit on the potty when the want. Jaide often asks "potty seat?" So I started taking her and guess what: she actually went #1 on the potty! Then to my complete surprise the next time she asked she went #2!!! Since then it's hit and miss. But now Siena will actually sit on the potty sometimes (she used to be scared of it). So we're slowly working toward "big girl" status. But seriously, I'm not in a rush. We're making a lot of other changes in their lives - no need to stress them out too much (more details in another post).
A photo of Jaide on the potty. I don't know why I think they look so cute on the toilet. Probably cause they are such tiny little people doing big people things.

Potty training is the WORST. But I have like millions of pics of the kids on the loo. It is just adorable to see their tiny buns on that huge pot!
One of our apartments had a toilet that just overflowed ALL THE TIME. It turned out the people before us had kids, and those kids had flush some gameboy cartridges. How does this occur to them??
Totally support the paying people to wear clothes. I might try that.....we have a nudity problem here, too, but we're getting a little old for it. $4 is a steal!
Love the twirls names for each other!! Too sweet!
Also, glad to see you back on the blog, but also sad that the blogging vacation has come to an end, apparently...now that you've posted I guess I have no excuse and I'll have to get with it too. :-) At least you have a good excuse - I'm just lazy! Sorry Grandma!
