After getting used to her new bed, one night she had a weird dream and asked to sleep in our room (which means on a mat on the floor next to our bed). About an hour later she was still awake and talking. I told her she had to go to sleep or I would make her go back to her room. She sat up and said "ya, that's a good idea. My bed is more comfy!" Whoo hooo!!! It's a win-win!
Whenever she wears her pink princess night gown to bed, she asks me to hold her hand and help her climb up into her bed cause "Princesses always get help. You can call me princess Scarlett!"
While rearranging the rooms we mounted the dropcams to the walls for a better viewing angle in both rooms. Well the twirls kept unplugging theirs so I finally taped the cord to the wall. That didn't work cause they just picked and picked and picked until they were able to pull the tape off. Ugh. So finally I seperated their beds away from the cord. It also helped keep them from throwing stuff at each other (mostly Siena throwing stuff into Jaide's bed while she was sleeping). The first night with their beds a part we heard a disco dance party in their room. We went in and found that Siena could reach the light switch now. They were going crazy! So I bought a light switch cover and installed a safety box over the plug so everything was toddler-proof. (PS - Don't you love their chandeliers! Jami found them online, they are actually Christmas ornaments so they are super light weight!)
Now the rocking chair is in their room and our night time routine seems to be working more smoothly. We read a few books then turn off the lamp and sing a few songs while rocking them. Then we put them in their beds (awake), give them a little face massage, and say "night night". Most nights it works really well. It is a little tricky to put the first baby in her crib while holding the other one. But after I lay the second baby down I come back and rearrange the first girl and get her blanket on.

I don't know if you can tell in this video, but when we point to things in the books I hold both of their hands and make them point together.
This video just shows how they like to "eat" the fruit from this book. I don't know why but I think it's so cute. Especially now cause they do it without any prompting from me.

A mother's life - always shifting things around and trying to make it work for the next phase, whatever that may be. I love that the twirls are picking the tape in that picture. Hahaha. They're on a mission!
And YAY for kids sleeping in their own beds and rooms!! Every night is a better night when we're all in our own beds.
