Get the Hel(mets) Outta Here!

The magical day finally arrived!  The twirls don't have to wear their helmets anymore!!!

It was good timing cause Siena had learned how to take her helmet off, so I spent most of my day fighting her.

We had their last checkup on  6/6/2014 13 months (with 11/4/2013 6 months in parentheses)

Siena

  • Head Circumference: 44.5 (41.5)
  • Left Front: 14.5 (13.4)
  • Right Front: 14.5 (13.5)
  • Head Width: 13.0 (13.1)
  • Head Length: 14.5 (13.3)
  • Cephalic index: 89.7 (98.5)

Jaide

  • Head Circumference: 44.5 (42.0)
  • Left Front: 14.7 (13.7)
  • Right Front: 14.7 (13.5)
  • Head Width: 13.0 (13.1)
  • Head Length: 14.7 (13.4)
  • Cephalic index: 88.4 (98.8)

The cephalic index range for a baby girl between 6-12 months is 69.5 - 87.5.

They didn't really change from their last appointment.  She said the helmets have done their job and their heads are done rapidly changing.  They both still have a flatish spot about the size of a quarter but it's soooo much better than when we started.  And that spot will get better as their heads continue to grow over the next few years.

I can't believe we're finally done!  It's ironic cause they could actually really use them now that they're getting into stuff.  But I don't think I'll miss those sweaty stinky things.  I know the babies don't mind that they're gone.

I've been looking at getting the helmets bronzed.  It will cost $3000.  But I think it will be worth it, don't you?

Before/After... (I realize that the curls kind of conceal the head shape, but they're so cute!!!)

This is just too cute!  Love my girls!!!

So happy for the girls, no more hot heads and they can scratch when ever they want! Love the cute curls and they are so big, I guess 1 year goes faster than I thought. Give all three girls hugs from us. Love Grandma

Hooray, congratulations! It's so fun to see how much their hair has grown in that time too! And yes, we thought of you when the 3 girls were dying their hair red. We forgot, however, about an upcoming baptism. Doh.

Yay! One less thing for you to take care of or worry about. On the down side, I will never know who is who now that they aren't labeled... :-)
