I taught 2 different 40 min sessions. About 12 girls total came to my class (many more there that night, but for some reason they didn't want to learn about cars). In fact, one really HM (high maintenance) girl came in and sat down, looked at the table of car stuff, then stood up and said "I need to go to the bathroom", then she whispered "and I probably won't come back" haha - we didn't want her in there anyway! The girls that did come were awesome and asked some really great questions.

Key Points:
- Find a mechanic you trust (ask friends who they recommend)
- Get routine maintenance/services
done (look in your owner's manual) - Check your oil and tire pressure in between services
- ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS check behind your car before backing up! (~18 kids in America hit per week by cars backing over them, ~2 of them die). It seems overboard but getting into the 30 second habit could save a life! K, I'm off my soapbox.

Awesome! I always think I should go take a car class. I really have no idea what goes on under the hood.
And that picture of all the kids is scary! In Wisconsin I always backed in to park. All the kids were in the car with me, and I could see the empty space before I pulled in. So, so sad that kids get hurt that way so often.
WOW! That picture of all those kids behind the car sure makes ya think! I'll be checking more than once knowing that! Thank you.
When I was learning to fly an airplane one of the first things you learn is to walk around plane before you get in checking to make sure every thing is in good working order,if we did that before we get in a car would be a big help! The picture of those children is heart stopping. Grandma
