About the Glausers

I had to write this little blurb about us for our ward newsletter:

All about Jake, Jenni & Scarlett Glauser…

Jake grew up in Draper with 4 sisters and graduated from Alta High.  He served a mission in Madison, Wisconsin (where they had to go knock doors unless it was colder than -25 degrees Fahrenheit – brrrrr)!  I (Jenni) grew up in Orem with 2 sisters and a brother and graduated from Mountain View High.

Jake and I met while both studying Mechanical Engineering at BYU.  We were in almost all the same core classes my entire college career.  I even remember having long conversations with Jake when we were sophomores.  But it wasn’t until our junior year, when we became study partners in our Heat Transfer class, that we started dating (which worked great because we were in the Crabtree lobby doing homework ALL the time!)

We got married during our senior year on Jan 18, 2008 in the Timpanogos temple.  Shortly after graduation we moved to Connecticut where we worked 3 cubicles away from each other at Pratt & Whitney as Jet Engine Engineers.  We got to eat lunch together almost every day.  I loved having all that time to get to know my best friend better.  While we were in Connecticut we served as early morning seminary teachers – we had to wake up at the unnatural time of 4:30 am!  We loved our ward and we had many fun adventures out there.  Jake realized that he wanted to get more into the business side of engineering, so we came back to Provo for round 2 of school.  On March 9, 2011 we had our baby girl Scarlett.  We love her so much!!!!!!

Jake will be graduating from BYU’s MBA program this April - if you know of any product development/program manager job openings, let us know!  *wink wink* J  In his spare time Jake likes dirtbiking; he has a Yamaha WR426F that he loves to take to the west desert.  He also enjoys watching Top Gear, coming up with new inventions, and browsing the KSL classifieds.

I still work full-time for P&W in the flight test group for the F35 Joint Strike Fighter next generation military aircraft.  I telecommute from home while my little sister watches Scarlett.  In my spare time I enjoy blogging, digital scrapbooking, coloring hair, dancing, and planning/organizing events.   I also love hanging out with our fantastic families!

Scarlett absolutely loves watching WordWorld.  She loves dogs and cats (but she’ll probably be allergic to them someday like her parents).  We are so lucky to have such a super happy baby!  She loves crawling up and down the stairs and getting into all sorts of trouble (like turning off the TV while we’re watching it!)  She is a very talkative little girl and right now her favorite words are: baby, wow, uh oh, mama, dada, and thank you.

We’re not sure where the future will take us – but we’re looking forward to another adventure!

Oh, and if you’re wondering how to pronounce our last name…  “Bowser, Wowser, Doogie Howser – all these rhyme with the name Glauser!”

How did I never think of rhyming to help people pronounce my maiden name? Brilliant!

So you started dating during "Heat Transfer" or "Heat Transfer" is what happened after you started dating? Sorry, Charlie and I couldn't resist. ;)
