Physical Skills & Observations
- She is such a happy baby!!!!! (except when she's tired or hungry)
- Claps feet when she's excited
- She will give hi-5s if you hold up your hand and say "Hi-5" (but only if you have 100% of her attention)
- Can say "hi" and "mama" but I'm not sure if they count as her first words cause it's still baby babble
- Will razz or make buzzing sounds
- Will mimic me and raise her eyebrows
- Will sit all by herself
- Can maneuver all over the floor, but still doesn't crawl
- Can give hugs and kisses (mostly face smashing but it still counts)
- She has a few long scraggly hairs on the back of her head. Jami keeps threatening to cut them, but I like them!
- I think she and I look a lot alike. Unfortunately I think she also got my wrinkly old lady hands. Poor girl.
- She knows her name and will respond to it
- She likes to peer around corners, so we'll hold her to the edge of the door and she cranes her neck around to see inside the room
- Plays the hand stack game with me where I put my hand on hers and she moves her hand to the top, then I move my hand to the top... we've even played with all 4 of our hands and she knows that the bottom hand moves to the top.
- She's very observant of her surroundings
- She's petite and little except for all her squishy chub! :-)
- She has really loud and super stinky toots - like clear-a-room stinky. I feel bad when she toots while eating under the nursing cover cause she "covered wagon"s herself!
- Sleeps all night! Yea! In the morning I'll bring her in bed with us and she nurses while I sleep - awesome!
- Reaches for whoever she wants
- Has the cutest dimples and big blue eyes - she gets lots of compliments on them from strangers
- Rocks back and forth when she's excited
- Loves to dance when there's music
- Loves remotes, cell phones, and her singamajig
- Ticklish on her neck, ribs, and feet
- Watches Word World (will giggle at the TV)
- Gets so excited to shower! Loves to splash in the tub.
- Hates her vitamin drops (they smell gross and taste grosser)
- She loves meeting new people, especially babies and kids
- She's pretty good at playing alone and keeping herself entertained, she especially likes hanging out in her bouncer
- Doesn't like to eat real food. We were doing good with Rice cereal but then she and I got the flu and threw up. Since then she's had a food aversion and she dry heaves anytime I try to feed her from her spoons. I've even tried spoon feeding her breastmilk and she still makes herself gag. So we've taken a little break from food for now (I'm pretty sure that she's getting enough food from me - have you seen those chubby legs?!)
- Likes to chew on straws and granola bar wrappers, she also likes paper but it gets too soggy
- For whatever reason she loves to stare a trees
- Loves loves loves dogs. She thinks Chumlee is HILARIOUS! She's always turning herself so she can watch him. He's patient and lets her pet/smack him. She giggles out loud when she sees him (she definitely doesn't get the puppy love from me). This video is from a month or so ago...
- Loves to stare at herself in the mirror
- Likes to gnaw on my chin
- Thinks its funny when you startle her
- Loves to play peek a boo, yesterday she even help up the blanket and put it down herself - all we had to do is say "peek a boo!"
- Loves all her cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents!
- Scarlett and Jake enjoy napping together! (this was after we completed a 5k in Draper)
- When I'm eating I will pretend to feed her a bite of my food (really it's just air), she eats off the spoon then she starts chewing hahaha - what a smarty!
- When she's nursing before bed, as she starts to fall asleep she will start to "sing" to herself
- Jake likes to play the "claw" game with her (like the arcade game) where he picks her up and hovers her over her toys till she grabs one. Jami also plays this game for Scarlett to choose what PJs to wear.
- I'm convinced that she only throws her toys on the floor to watch us pick them up - I bet she's thinking about how she's got us all trained
- She is really good at smiling for the camera
- If I try to give her a binky when she's tired and she doesn't want it, she'll take it out of her mouth and throw it while looking at me. Uh oh! She's already sassy!
- The other day I was working on the computer so I put her under her dangling toys, the next thing I knew she had maneuvered herself to inside her closet!
She's so fun and we feel so blessed to have her in our little family! We love her so much!
