Utah: Yellowstone

Hello blollowers!  We are still here and doing great!  I am sooo behind on the blog that I've been avoiding it.  I have like 3000 pictures to go through!  YIKES!  But things have calmed down so I am going to try to catch up.  Some of these posts will be out of order...

We spent like 6 weeks in Utah this past summer.  While we were in Utah we had the opportunity to visit Yellowstone.  Mom G's boss owns a cabin up there and let us use it after the 4th of July.  The twirls told me "I'm so excited to spend 4 days with Grandma Glauser."

Since we were driving the 12 passenger "Party Bus" we brought some of Mary's kids with us.  Having teenagers made it so much easier to drive 5 hours.  Every stop we had so many responsible hands to help with potty breaks.  The only bummer for them is that I made a road trip CD to listen to in the car.  It had like 12 songs and we probably listened to it like 450 times!  haha!  "I can make your hands clap.."  Since we had a long drive we decided to upgrade Skye's infant car seat to a bigger, more comfy toddler seat.  She loved being a "big girl"!

The girls were in the car a LOT.  Back and forth, all over Yellowstone, so much driving!  We took different cousins with us - lots of rearranging.  Our girls did a lot better than I expected.  Except for when the very overtired and very cranky Jaide started throwing a tantrum.  I took away her phone and told her she was in timeout for 5 min.  No snacks, no pillow, no toys.  I just looked forward and ignored her.  Then all of the sudden a green crock flew past my ear and onto my lap and I heard Jaide whisper "dirty, stinky mommy."  Oh my goodness it was so funny!  I had to be all "serious" but I was laughing so hard on the inside!

I was nervous about the girls sleeping.  But they LOVED the bunk beds!  And Skye slept really well in the pack and play too!  The only hard thing about the cabin was the heat.  It was SOO hot.  I woke up a ton every night because the room was sweltering.  But besides that, it was awesome!  Everyone had a bed to sleep in, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, 2 TVs, bean bags, washer/dryer, even an indoor hot tub!  What a fun place to be.  And a great opportunity for our girls to get to know their cousins!

Yellowstone has some amazing geological features.  I loved all the geysers and mineral hot springs.

The mini grand canyon was breathtaking!

Lots of beautiful places to hike around and explore.  Siena picked up a really round rock and showed everyone how it was even squishy!  Uh oh!  It was animal poop!  haha!  She was pretty traumatized until she got to wash her hands really well and use hanitizer!

We had a great time!  I'm so glad we got to spend the time with Glauser clan!
