I took my dad on a drive and told him I had a surprise for him. It was this sign. Only in Detroit!!! :-)
Grumple loved playing with the little "crumb hustlers".
Even though they wore him out! haha!
Jami would sit and play with Scarlett. When they worked on building something Scarlett would ask her: "Do you want me to go get my mom? She used to build airplanes piece by piece." haha! I didn't know she knew I used to work on airplanes - or that I built them piece by piece!
Several times I would ask Scarlett what she wanted to wear and she would just yell "I want to be maked [naked]!" Here she's dancing while wearing Aunt Jami's shoes and the other photo she used a piece of ribbon to make a "kitty tail."
We enjoyed a few treats - the girls were in HEAVEN (aka sugar coma)!
I bought a big bag of chocolate chips for "baking". I caught Scarlett trying to open them in the twirls's room - she heaved that huge bag up the stairs. The girl was motivated! I also found out that I have a reputation in my family for always keeping a hidden stash of chocolate chips by my computer. I thought I was being sneaky! Ironically I'm eating some from that bag this very minute!
Grammy was lots of fun! Sometimes Scarlett was her Shoulder Angel Devil! (we watched a lot of Studio C and the Shoulder Angel skits just crack me up!)
Scarlett wanted to tell Grammy a joke, so I whispered a joke in her ear:
Jenni (whispering): Why can't a bike stand by itself?Scarlett (to Grammy): Why can't a bike stand by itself?
Grammy: I don't know, why?
Jenni (whispering): Because it's two-tired
Scarlett (to Grammy): Cause it has two wheels
haha! Apparently puns are lost on 3 year olds!
I found out that the twirls LOVE LOVE LOVE Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. It's the only show that they really watch and get excited about. They especially love to dance to the theme song at the beginning and the hot dog song at the end. Here are several videos of their adorable dancing.
Identical twins - always in sync. Kinda freaky!
Siena's so excited - she can barely "stand" it! haha!
Siena take 2 - she's a little more stable!
Jaide's classic head banging moves! I don't know why but she loves to bang against the back of the chair when she dances. All the time. Any chair. Crazy girl!
Jaide loves little seats. Seriously, if she sees a kid-sized chair she makes a beeline for it. That girl takes her lounging very seriously! Luckily the other girls don't seem to mind that she hogs the polka dot chair. Scarlett's too busy playing and Siena likes to just sit in my lap or on the floor near me. Jaide will only sit in my lap if the other girls are somewhere else and she doesn't have to compete for lap space. She likes to be comfy, I totally get that.
Siena waiting for me. And a rare moment when the other girls decided that they wanted the polka dot chair too.
We went shopping a lot. The twirls got to try their own carts.
And Scarlett got to try the electric scooters! She asked Aunt Jami to do her hair before we left in a "coronation bun." Thank you Frozen.
Scarlett watched Aunt Jami take her medicine several times a day. She was very interested in what they were and what they did. By the end of the trip she would hear Jami's phone alarm go off and she would yell "Aunt Jami - it's time to take your chemicals!" hahaha!
She would tell me "Aunt Jami is my best friend." Then turn and give her lots of kisses. She also called her "Sexy Mama" - I have no idea where she picked that up, I'm blaming Jake for that one. ;-)
Aunt Jami bought Scarlett her very own Batman shirt with a cape. I picked her up from preschool one day like this - pig tails, cape and high heels.
The girls all had to do their "physical therapy"...
Twirls have been saying please, thanks, and "I did it!" I'm sure they are talking more, it's just hard to understand them at this age. Siena seems to talk more than Jaide. She will often go up to Jake when he gets home and just jibber jabber about her day. We have no idea what she's saying, but she does!
The twirls love to steal stuff from the pantry. They are so fast too! I'll open the door for a second to grab something and they'll run from across the room and make it in time to snag an item. Siena always goes for the fruit snacks. One time I found Jaide in the toy room with a whole loaf of bread!
The love to push their little strollers.
Another favorite toy is our big slide. The twirls are a little scared of it but with someone helping them they just love it! It was so fun to play with them, but between all 3 girls we were exhausted at the end ("we" meaning Jake, Jami, and Grammy). It was a baby slide factory!
My friend Jamie brought her newborn baby boy over to snuggle with us. Grammy held her baby too. While the babies were happy, Jamie and I snuck upstairs so I could put a foil of teal dye in her hair. I'm bringing more people over the colorful side of the force!
Indoor picnic. Scarlett spent most of it in tears cause she was soooo tired and her fingernail was hurting (she picks at them if they get long and sometimes she rips off too much). The babies got apple juice with their dinner, you can see how they love it - bottom's up!
My dad let the girls play inside my shower once before bath time. Since then they try and hide in my shower before every bath time. Every single night. So one time I let them take a shower instead of a bath, they all seemed to enjoy it. It's just so much more work and water gets everywhere.
Just lounging around. All the fun wore us out! Siena loves to snuggle close to me and Jaide just likes a comfy seat.
I found Scarlett resting at the top of the stairs one morning - too tired to move.
Scarlett fell asleep in Jami's lap, in the car, and once during dinner she said "will you save this for me in the fridge?" then she went and snuggled up with the pink pillow in the living room and fell asleep - right there during dinner!!! We moved our twin mattress into Scarlett's room so Aunt Jami could sleep in there with her - I think the excitement of the constant slumber party was finally catching up with her.
Even the twirls took extra naps. When I saw them like this, they gave me a heart attack! (get it? Cause of all the hearts that they're wearing? ok, I admit, that was pretty lame. But I couldn't resist!)
Grammy bought cherry tomatoes. Scarlett thought the container was so pretty. Every time my mom would get it out to eat a few Scarlett would ask for one. Then she would spit it out and say it was yucky. Surely something that came in such a pretty container should taste good. Finally my mom asked Scarlett to feed her the tomatoes (so she didn't have to eat them every time) and that seemed to fix her conflicting feelings.

Grammy let the twirls play with her phone while she changed their bums. This is a special treat cause I hardly ever let my girls use my phone. They were being so cute watching the show together.
This video is just adorable!
This video was taken right after my mom took her phone away. haha! This is one reason why they don't get to play with my phone!
We are already missing Grumple, Grammy and Aunt Jami! We can't wait for their next visit!

What fun to see your blog. You do realize of course, that this is our substitute TV since we don't watch any on our mission. So thanks for the great videos! Unfortunately for Grandpa G. he now has the "hot dog" song stuck in his head. Happy Thanksgiving to all. Here in Russia we're not even bothering with the holiday; officially it's just another work day for us. Can't believe how big everyone is getting. Scarlett looks HUGE on the slide now. How cool that your folks came for so long. Love to all, Grandma G
These pictures totally made my day! I love your parents - they were like my other (and so much cooler) parents growing up. Makes me happy to see them there with you!
Love the batman shirt/cape, and that she wore it with heels! That is too cute. One classy lady you've got there. When my boys were little I made capes out of old adult t-shirts from a thrift store. One wanted a cat, one wanted the incredibles logo, and one wanted - no kidding - broccoli. I made fabric broccoli and glued it on. Maybe donuts too? I can't remember, I just remember thinking that was the weirdest super hero ever. Haha. I had totally forgotten about that until right now. :-)
