Our ward playgroup has been meeting at different parks while the weather is still nice. The winters are long in Michigan so we want to avoid meeting in the church gym til absolutely necessary. It's fun to see the girls explore and play with their friends. Plus I like chatting with my friends too! Win win!
I dressed all the girls in striped pants and a pink shirt. We got to the park and guess what Kaylie was wearing? Striped pants and a pink shirt! Quadruplets!
The twirls were loving the dirt and wood chips. I normally don't like them getting messy (more work for me) but they just too cute to stop.
They started fake laughing together. By the time I got my camera out they had stopped, so I had to start fake laughing to get them to copy me. So please ignore my ugly fake laugh on this video:
When we got home from the park Scarlett's eye was swollen shut. Right before we left she was petting a little dog someone brought to the park (with their permission). I think this girl's allergic to dogs. Which is lucky cause she loves them... now I won't be the bad guy crushing her dreams. She told me the next day that she wants a dog. I told her she's allergic and can't have one. She said "yes I can, I can have a pretend one." oh sweetie, that's the only kind you can have. Then at dinner we had this conversation with Jake.
Scarlett: I'm allergic to dogs.Jake: I'm allergic to cats.Scarlett: What are you allergic to mom?Mom: Everything.Scarlett: Everything? Even markers and glue and paper?Mom: haha! OK not everything.... Just grass, plants, dogs, cats, animals with fur-Scarlett: And giraffes?Mom: ....???? ProbablyShe cracks us up!!!!
Ok - what is the deal with buckles? The twirls are a little obsessed with them right now. Did anyone else have kids go through the buckle phase? When I get them out of their carseats they immediatly turn around and buckle the chest buckle. Every time. It makes it super annoying when I go to put them in it and I have to undo buckles. I would think that they would be sick of them cause we seriously live in buckle jail. Car seats, strollers, high chairs... 87.4% of my day is spent buckling and unbuckling. But nope, they love them!
I know I've posted this video before, but it helps illustrate their current infatuation.

All kids go through the buckle phase I think. It's probably because they think if it's buckled, you can't get them in. It comes in really handy in shopping carts when they buckle themselves in and can't undo it.
Darn it, I was going to get y'all a giraffe for Christmas.
:-)
The buckle phase is super annoying. Hang in there.
Playgroup is so nice. So nice to talk to grownups for a bit, and my boys always wore themselves out and fell asleep in the car on the way home. I'd take a book along and then sit in the car and read while they were napping (we had no garage...). :-)
