My Complaining Never Stops!

For an assignment in school I had to write a complaint letter to a company and receive a response to see how they manage their quality. I ended up writing two letters (apparently I'm easily annoyed?)

To Tyson Chicken:

A couple months ago I bought 2 packages of your frozen, uncooked chicken fingers. When I got home and opened the bag what I found were obviously just the scraps left over from your other chicken products.
None of the pieces were big enough to be considered "fingers" and most of the pieces were extremely fatty and stringy. They could be used for popcorn chicken I suppose, but I bought them specifically to be chicken fingers. As a result we haven't bought any more chicken from anyone since then. The reason being that when my wife and I go grocery shopping we figure we don't need any more chicken, because we have two bags of "fingers" in the freezer. However, when we are cooking we never choose to cook the "fingers", because they are nasty.  We've ended up eating a lot of beef and fast food ("blaaahhhh") which is making us gain weight. I would very much appreciate your response to this issue within the next couple of weeks.

Thanks!
Jacob Glauser

and to Arctic Circle:

A couple months ago my wife and I went to Arctic Circle. My wife had never been there and I wanted to show her the best tasting shakes around. However, the following experience has really made it difficult for me to get her to go back.

We went inside and ordered burgers and tater tots. We were planning on getting shakes, but decided to order them after our other food, so they wouldn't melt before we were ready for them. We paid for the food and got it in a timely manner. After sitting down, starting our meal, and having good conversation one of the employees came to us and said she accidentally charged us $0.10 for the tater tots and would have to charge us the full price (something like $1.25). When most restaurants make a mistake like that they just bite the bullet and don't bother their potentially repeat customers over a dollar and change. We received the food, so we were willing to pay for it, but it did seem kind of dumb. I told them we were planning on buying shakes and asked if we could just pay for the tots at that time. The employee said that would be OK, but a minute later she was back at our table, disturbing us, and said her manager was only comfortable with us paying for the tots right then. Did she think we were going to run off without paying the extra dollar? Is she seriously that concerned? This offended both my wife and I, but I left my meal, went to the counter, and paid for the tots anyway.

We were so annoyed with our experience that rather than buy shakes there that night we jumped in our car, drove across town, and bought a couple of Blizzards from Dairy Queen and have continued to go to Dairy
Queen since then.

What can you do to help me convince my wife to go back to Arctic Circle?!

Sincerely,
Jake Glauser

P.S. That store also has little signs everywhere requesting customers to take only one napkin at a time. This really comes across as cheap and seems like the management feels that the customer is their adversary. I understand that people usually grab a huge handful of napkins that often get wasted. Perhaps a better solution would be to have napkin dispensers at each table, so that customers only grab one napkin at a time. Needless to say, I ignored the napkin signs and grabbed a handful anyway. Once I'm seated with my family I don't want
to have to get up multiple times just to grab another napkin.

Hey, I figure if you didn't get toe nails in your food, you should be happy. Or maybe you could put your own nails in and get free food! I complained once at Paradise Bakery and they told me they'd leave a gift card for me at the counter, but when I went back it wasn't there. I doubt I'll ever go again.

Hahaha, good for you, Jake! I'm right along with you...I have recently written letters to Kneaders and Wendy's after appalling experiences and have been given gift cards to both of them, should I choose to give them a second chance. :) I hope you're rewarded just as handsomely!

So---did you get a response from either of these places yet? I want to hear the end of the story.
