Well this year was no exception to the curse. The Tuesday before Thanksgiving, I worked from home because I wasn't feeling that great. What was bad went to worse in a matter of hours. I cannot remember that last time I had thrown up or even had a fever! But now I can! In a matter of 2-3 hours I lost like 4 pounds. I was so dehydrated that my fingers were all pruney and my arms felt "fuzzy" (loss of electrolytes?) I could barely walk straight! I thought that we were going to have to go to the hospital... But thanks to the power of the priesthood, and my faithful husband, I was able to keep some water down and start rehydrating.
For the next week I was sicker than sick. I've eaten a year's supply worth of chicken soup, saltines and ginger ale! We had to cancel our trip to Long Island for the holiday (I was so bummed). On Thanksgiving I felt bad that Jake was just wandering aimlessly around our apartment... so we went to the grocery store and grabbed a few essentials for a humble little holiday dinner. We managed to quickly knock out a meal (instead of turkey, we opted for precooked chicken strips). Not too shabby!
Regardless of my queasy tummy, we did manage to get out a little and have some fun. We saw New Moon, went Christmas shopping, applied for our passports, and saw The Blind Side (love love loved it!). We even got a bunch of our friends together at a sports bar to watch the BYU vs Utah game! We sat there and ordered food for 4 hours so we could watch the whole game. During OT the restaurant changed all the TVs to some hockey game - we all stood up and were panicky until they turned our game back on - just in time to see BYUs winning TD!!! Whoo Hoo!!!
Oh, also, everyone keeps asking me if this illness means I'm pregnant - the answer is HECK NO!!! (pretty much the cramps, etc I'm having right now guarantee that I'm not with child)... I was just dang sick.

Sounds like you had it really bad!
I had pneumonia for Thanksgiving, but thankfully, that didn't involve any puking, so I'll take it.
What is it with us?
With Liz and you both sick on Thanksgiving and both asthmatic I would like to state that it most likely comes from the Seaver genes and any blame be placed upon your fathers.
Hope you are both feeling better.
That sucks! At least you were somewhere you could just relax and get better. We always get sick over Christmas. A bowl game party sounds great! With any luck, I'll be watching it from the hospital.
Your dinner looks very yummy for someone who wasn't feeling well.
I'm sad it was the stinkin flu, and not a cute little Glauser growing in that skinny belly of yours!!
LOVE....
16 more days....
At least you're creating the right kind of memories for the first years of marriage. You can tell these stories to your kids and grandkids while you stuff the turkey on Thanksgiving Days yet to be. (Provided you eventually break the curse, of course.)
