I realize that I went a little overboard taking photos this past year. I was so worried about capturing our memories so I could share them (and remember them!) I've decided to try and enjoy my life and live in the moment and only snap photos every now and again.
That being said......... I have a lot of photos to share with you from the past few months! :-)
A lovely Sunday afternoon:
Barricaded in the coat room:
Scarlett asked to use tape so she could make balls (with tissues inside). They were her "collection". Then we sent out letters and she put stickers on the back. I was surprised when I saw she made some great patterns:
The twirls are zoned out watching TV. Scarlett asked me "why are the babies doing this?" (see her mouth)
Fun with our friends:
Scarlett wanted to hold my friend's baby "knock Knox". She sat and held him for about 17 min. I kept asking her if she was done, but she said no. It was so sweet!
Jake grew out his beard in October. I asked him if he wanted to keep it for the prostate cancer no shave November. The next day he shaved his beard - I asked why and he said (very seriously) "I didn't want to get prostate cancer."
Just reading books before bed:
Getting out of the house:
On a walk (this is from early Nov). I used the stroller to push Scarlett's bike. It was cute when Jaide would reach up and pretend to push her sister.
Little divas (yes - we are working on wearing clothes during the day. It's a constant battle)
Just watching TV. When it's just Scarlett and me she liked to sit in my "knee nest" aka behind my legs when I lay down on the couch:
Pretending to be a baby:
Playing with dad:
I found Marshall tucked in for nap time in the twirls' room.
Just getting our shoes on for church:
This is an old photo, but I love it. I'm not sure if I've posted it before.
Now for a lot of random Scarlett quotes:
- I started scratching Scarlett's back then she said "Ahh that's the spot." Where does she learn this stuff?
- Let's play kiss catch mom! (then she showed me that we blow kisses to each other and try to catch them in the air)
- "Chip chop chip, Mom"
- "I'm on it."
- "Yes sir, Ryder, sir" (while saluting me) - from Paw Patrol
- "Oh gigabytes!"
- Me: "Scarlett, don't throw those clothes off the banister without asking me if they could break" Her: "They won't break mom, they're not made of plastic."
- Scarlett woke up in the middle of the night "Mom! I dreamed about cookies!" Me:"Is that why you woke me up?" Her: "Yes, can I have a cookie?"
- "I don't like bugs, I like to step on them and make them dead and broken."
- Her: "Why?" Me: "I don't know, what do you think?" Her: "I don't know, what do you think?" Me: "I don't know, what do you think?" Her: "I don't know, what do you think?" (we go back and forth a million times)

I love that makeup container idea so much! I think your mom should probably make Meg one. Hint hint. ;) I'd make it, but I have never in my life used up all the makeup from a container before it broke, so I'm unfamiliar how one gets empty makeup containers. Also, I agree with Jake, I'm anti-prostate cancer.
We played marble run in primary music time this week. It was magical how quiet all the kids got when it was time to send the marbles through the machine.
So many wonderful pictures.
I love the Scarlettisms!
I would be concerned about her desire to make bugs dead and broken, but you were not much younger than her when you told your dad that if you had a knife you'd stab him with it. Luckily, there was no suppressed violence that came out later in your life.
Christy - just buy some from the dollar store and wash out the makeup. Bam! Empty container! Beware though, my mom said it took like 20 coats to get the nail polish to look bright. You might start with a white base coat to make the color look brighter faster.
Carolyn - that sounds like a great idea! I will remember that for the next time I sub for the music person.
Mom - that's what you think......
I'm with Scarlett - kill the bugs!!
Love the pics - and you should take few enough to not make yourself crazy, but enough that you can look back and enjoy. I love looking at our old pictures. There is so much I had forgotten!
