Carolyn Came

Carolyn came and stayed with us for several days.  Jake picked her up at the airport after work one day.  She was standing at the pickup curb and called Jake to let him know where she was - she decided to tell Jake she was by the hot, orange mustang when she noticed Jake waving to her from inside that very car!  In Jake's current rotation he's been able to bring home all sorts of cool cars!  Needless to say they had a fun drive to our house!

We all watched the Happiest Baby on the Block DVD - I think Carolyn's a believer.  She calls it "baby voodoo"!  She is a pro now... the baby whisperer (or should I say baby shusher)

She was wonderful and so helpful.  She cleaned and cooked and let me take naps.  We bought a stand up deep freeze that week and she made us some lasagnas to freeze and cook later (we've already had one - delish!)

Scarlett pointed at a new Ford Focus and told Carolyn "ooooo, pretty car".  I think Carolyn was proud of her at that moment.  Scarlett also kept singing  "ABC"/"Twinkle Twinkle" for several days - Carolyn didn't know that 2 year olds could get songs stuck in their head.  Carolyn took her on lots of walks outside.

Siena didn't poop most of the time Carolyn was here.  Called doctor: It is normal for breastfed babies to start absorbing all the nutrients and poop every three to five days!  As long as they are loose yellow stools and she still has wet diapers no worries!  But Jaide continues to poop almost every diaper.  She is quite talented at projectile pooping - Carolyn even saw Jaide poop on Siena before their bath!  Someday I'm sure the girls will be soooo embarrassed that I put this stuff on the blog - but it's a huge part of my life right now.  Sorry ladies!

The girls slept 6 hours on June 22!!!  And two other times while Carolyn was here.  It was wonderful!  Except I was sooooo uncomfortable from not feeding them sooner that I had to pump each time.  Good news: I've got lots of milk in our deep freeze.

Bath time was her favorite!  The girls LOVE it!

We sucked Carolyn in the vortex.  She was amazed at how hard it was to leave the house before 4pm and how time is distorted.  No worries - she got back at me for sucking all that time by pouring boiling water down my front (it was an accident on both our parts and I'm alright now).

We had so much fun and can't wait til her next trip out here (Lake Michigan?)  (Can you tell they're related?)

Fun fun fun!

One of my boys pooped every 6 days, as an infant, and another pooped even less frequently. I couldn't believe they weren't uncomfortable with it, but it worked for them. And less diapers for me to change, so YAY!
