not-really-that-sad, but sad...

So, some of you may have heard our not-really-that-sad, but sad, news... Jake and I no longer sit 4 cubicles away from each other at work!

I've moved groups and now sit in another BUILDING across the Pratt campus!!! This will be the first time since Aug 2007 that we will have to consistently spend 8 hours/day apart! (kinda pathetic, I know)

This will be a difficult transition for us, but with the aid of land line phones, cell phones and email I'm confident that we will pull through.

The good news of all this drama is that I've changed groups! So far I'm really enjoying my new team and responsibilities. I work in the Flight Test Group (Systems Analysis and Validation) for the F135 engine - power for the F35 Joint Strike Fighter. I can't say much more, or else I would have to kill you - haha j/k - but seriously... ;)

So, this is a little video that shows the engine. The coolest part about this engine is that the STOVL (Short Take-Off Vertical Landing) will be able to do just that - land vertically! CRAZY!

Baby steps Jenni. You'll be fine.

BTW, you have a cool job: inventions, politics, lunch breaks with your husband. Good stuff!

How awesome. All that hard work at BYU has paid off!

I will fast for you, to help you and Jake through this difficult time.

That is a cool aircraft. I've done some reading about it from a standpoint of uses for the Navy with the STOVL. Now anytime I see one I will know that you are making sure that the engines are working right.

A lot of the newer planes can't land at LaGuardia because the runways are too short. I guess this one can land in my yard. You are a role model for my girls. (except for the sappy stuff. BE STRONG)

Sometimes life can be SO HARD! :-)

JC is in China for two weeks right now, and our anniversary is next week while he is gone. I don't think we've celebrated an anniversary together in...a long time. And he is usually gone for my birthday too.

But I do know it is sad/hard to change the way things are - it was a hard adjustment at first to him traveling all the time. Now I just enjoy myself and check out lots of "lame girl movies" at the library.

Hang in there - you may find (as I did) that it isn't so bad after all.

You know what they say. . .Absence makes the heart grow fonder. . .you guys will do just fine! and the engine you are working on is just madness!! Love it! Can you slip one of those jets into my purse at church? I wanna learn how to fly it, just so I can land like that. Awesome.
